Remember this is an AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid), not a BHA. AHAs work by breaking up the "cellular glue" that makes dead skin cells stick together. If you have acne, you will be better off using a BHA (which essentially dissolves the sebum, or "gunk," that clogs your skin). This is great for giving you a "glow" without scrubbing away too much skin. Tips for use: - This will make you sun sensitive because it removes the dead skin from the top layer, so wear sunscreen after! You should be wearing sunscreen daily anyways - try the Biore Watery Essence - Use at night for reason #1 - Until your skin is used to it, use it only 1-2 times a week - Alternate nights with AHA and BHA - don't risk over exfoliation by using both - Don't use a physical exfoliator (like a washcloth or clarisonic) while using this, you risk over exfoliation - Apply, wait 20 minutes for it to sink in, and then moisturize - Enjoy! I have stupid skin and Cosrx AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid has a long name, but I love it anyway.

I have been using this for awhile now, and purposely waited a month or better to review this product to give a more accurate review. I really like this product. I had, up until this point, never used a chemical peel; so I was more than a little nervous about jumping into this sort of thing. Skin background, I had acne from pretty much age 12 and up. I'm 26 now, and for awhile my skin had gotten much better...around the 16 mark it started to slightly improve and by 20-something it wasn't a huge problem. I still had issues with some things (most moisturizers broke me out, I couldn't wear lipstick...ever. or...stains..or any kind. literally just if it went on your lips it broke me out.) but, for the most part, it was mostly handled. Then I had surgery at the end of last year, was on antibiotics for awhile, and on bed rest for a month or so while healing. My skin went stupid. I went from maybe one or two small zits occasionally (with hyperpigmentation) to all of a sudden 5-7 every few days. My entire chin was red, everything was just horrible and terrible. I had no idea what was causing it, medication, surgery, reactions, whatever. I tried cutting out various foods for awhile at a time, nothing helped. Cutting out sugar, caffeine, wheat, meat (at different times of course) - literally nothing made any difference whatsoever. So, last hope, I buy this. Again, chemical peels were the one things i hadn't tried before. So. This. It works so bloody good, man. I really can't say enough. This, plus taking fish oil omega 3's, has made a drastic shift in my skin. I am still oily, I feel I may be oily to the day I die, but as of right now I have 0 active zits on my face. Over say a week period (even DURING PMS) I've had a reduction of severity of about 98%. I can wear lipsticks and lipstains a lot easier with less problems, scars fade faster, pimples I do get last shorter. I'm in the camp that rarely if ever gets black heads, I always get kinds with whiteheads and it sucks - but this makes it suck a lot less. Other positive things, I HATE fake fragrance in things. I just hate it. This has none, and yes, it smells a tiny bit, but not terrible and it fades quickly. I have such oily skin, I put this AHA on twice a day, every day, and my skin actually feels softer after. It does not dry out my skin whatsoever, it does not make it more sensitive. If you have dry skin, you know, be careful about it, but for me ~oily mcoilslick~ it works great. If you have whiteheads, if you have oily skin, if you have sensitive skin, if you have hormonal acne, if you have acne that leaves you scratching your head because all of a sudden it decided to rain down upon your face like armageddon blasting down upon the once great planet - BUY THIS (and, also, maybe, try taking at least 500mg of omega 3s? omega 3s from fish oil specifically works well for me. primrose oil and flax and things like that haven't helped as much, but fish oil did. so, you know, just a mild suggestion to try out if you haven't already.) I have not been paid or compensated in any way for my review of this product, I did not receive the product free or for any sort fo discount - but, hey Cosrx, I will definitely do so if you send me more things because I am officially a fan..

Want glowing, soft, happy, healthy skin? Buy this.

After a ton of research I decided to add an active to my skin care routine, replacing my harsh physical exfoliators, and in October 2017 I purchased COSRX AHA. Immediately I was in love. If you've never used an active before, like I hadn't, do it in baby steps. Apply a thin layer once, maybe twice a week while your skin adjusts. After my first application I swear the next day my skin looked visibly brighter, smoother, and was softer. I built up to three times a week and that was perfect for my skin. I got lazy for a couple of weeks and noticed the difference in my skin. It became rough and dry and lifeless. Back to my routine I went and it perked right up. It's now mid April 2018 and I still have half a bottle, plus I've ordered another one to have on hand for when I do eventually run out. Good price for how long it lasts and for how awesome it makes my skin feel. Seriously though, do some research on how bad physical exfoliators are for your skin (like ones made from apricot seeds or have microbeads) and make the switch. You'll be happy you did. Also if you're new to facial care, the people over at skincareaddiction on reddit are a fountain of useful supportive information.

Amazing, life-changing product

So obviously I wanted to wait to see if I'd get results and while this has not been my only skincare change I really think this product gets the majority of the credit. My skin is OK. Oily, mostly clear of acne but I had a lot of those closed bumps under my skin that I figured I just had to live with... Turns out no. My skin is more clear than it's ever been and I am amazed. (I'm panicking seeing that it's jumped in price by almost double since I bought it). I'd like to share my routine in case it helps anyone else. AM: cleanse skin -mornings I like mother dirt foaming cleanser 5 drops of dermadoctor kakadu vitamin c serum and Baebody eye gel PM: cleanse skin (I love the supercleanse from Glam Glow) - bring pH of skin to ideal level by using the Corsx AHA/BHA toner - even layer of corsx whitehead using my fingers (I was wasting so much product on my cotton rounds but if your skin is sensitive beware of your fingers peeling) - even layer of corsx blackhead. Only do this if your skin is very accustomed to acids. This works very well to clear congested skin. The whitehead alone is amazing but when paired with this the results are astounding - wait 30 minutes before applying the next step to let the acids work. The next product you layer may alter the pH of the acids making them less effective so give it some time to do its thing. - layer of Clinique's acne + line serum (I want to try the tea tree oil one on Amazon) - layer of Neutrogena Stubborn Acne Leave on mask - Baebody eye gel All of these products work well alone but together it's given me the best skin I've had in my entire life. This regime is not for people with sensitive skin but if you regularly use treatments on your skin I think you'd be OK with daily use. It certainly does for me with no drying or any unwanted effects. If the treatment is too harsh try every other day.

with nothing ever working good enough for me to purchase it twice

I'll start by saying I'm a cosmetologist with 10 years of experience. I also have very sensitive oily skin, clogged pores, with blackheads, whiteheads, and a dull/sallow complexion. I've tried everything under the sun, with nothing ever working good enough for me to purchase it twice. I kept seeing all the raving about 10 step Korean skin care. I had 160 worth of free money is got using ibotta and Wal-Mart savings catcher so I used it to give the Korean method a try. I was terrified about doing a double cleanse with one oil based cleanser and one green tea foam cleanser, the thought of putting oil on my already greasy skin I thought was stupid, but I tried anyway. Along with the other steps, and I was even more put off about using a chemical exfoliant, as I'm used to manual gritty type. So I tried and actually am in my second month. I actually love taking the few extra minutes to pamper myself. My skin actually is never greasy anymore, my complexion is radiant with a beautiful glow, my blackheads and whiteheads are about 80% improved, I even used this exfoliant on one spot daily that was a sunspot I've had for 2 years actually made it go away. Using this exfoliant 3 times weekly onx the rest of my skin has helped helped to give me a clear radiant, glowing, smooth textured skin that I never knew I could have. I tried going without this product for one week to see if it was this product or the other combination, and I definitely noticed that my pores were starting to get full of sebum again. Another thing that I noticed is that if I use this product then a moisturizing mask or any mask that I absorb the product alot better. I'm 31 so I'm starting to get my first lines and smile wrinkles, I started using a dermaroller before using this exfoliant so I could better absorb, and now my first lines are completely gone. At 31 my skin now looks better than it did at 25. This is a definite game changer, and now that I've found it I will be a customer. I also sampled a few other products from this brand, and i liked them as well. The price is great considering the results this will deliver. Where has this been hiding all my life?

I didn't think there was such a product that existed like this. I've been dealing with these little bumps that would grow every few weeks, but they weren't spots. If I left them alone, they would just sit there, but everyday I would feel/see them and would get really upset. The only way to rid myself of them was to squeeze hard as hell and whatever was residing inside that thing would come out and then turn into the biggest, reddish spot ever, and it would take forever to heal. If you're dealing with that sort of annoyance, look no further! It says to start off by using this once a week to allow the concentrated formula and your skin get used to each other....I skipped that part and did it every night before going to bed. I'm super cheap, so I just squirt a blob or two onto my fingers and just rub it in like moisturizer. For me, it didn't burn (unless I had a small cut or exfoliated a certain spot,) the smell didn't bother me, it's a little more watery and not gel like at all. I noticed a BIG change within about a week and a half. Those little bratty bumps haven't shown up since. Very effective at improving skin tone and texture

This is the first AHA I've ever tried, but I have been so satisfied with the results that I don't feel the need to try another. I recently reintroduced this product into my skincare routine, and normally use it every other day. I was having an aggravating issue of tiny little bumps all over my forehead (I believe they were closed comedones) and they were drastically improved after just a couple weeks of using Cosrx AHA regularly. The bumps are almost disappeared now, and the overall appearance of my skin is much improved. I feel that my skin is a lot brighter and healthier looking now. I will definitely be repurchasing when I run out. This product is neither the gentlest nor the strongest AHA option on the market, but I think the formula is just right to balance ease of use with effectiveness. I have had no issues using it as often as every other day, and as I said, I have seen impressively fast results. However, this is an active product and in order to be used safely and effectively, you need to know how to use it: Like other active products like Vitamin C and BHA, this product should be applied on clean skin, BEFORE any other products like toner or moisturizer. And like other active products, you need to leave it on your skin to work before adding any other products—twenty or thirty minutes is a good rule of thumb. Because of this, many people use it in the nighttime routine instead of the daytime. The order of operations should be: oil cleanser (to remove makeup, sunscreen, natural oils accumulated throughout the day, etc.), regular cleanser, actives, THEN toners/serums/moisturizers/masks/etc. If you use multiple actives, the order they go in is Vitamin C, BHA, then AHA, while waiting in between for each. I do BHA and AHA on alternate days for convenience. The first time I used this product I experienced a moderate reaction to it, which caused my face to flush red for a little while. It didn't sting or burn, but some people have had that reaction too. As with all skincare products, it would be wiser to patch test before applying to your whole face. I didn't have another adverse reaction after that, but if you find that your skin is sensitive to this product you could try 1) starting with a low frequency, like once per week, and/or 2) using an AHA with a lower concentration of the active ingredient. I believe that other brands make a 2% product, which is quite a low concentration and may be more tolerable for some people.

it's like a love and hate relationship with this product

Oh man, it's like a love and hate relationship with this product. The first month of using this product, I broke out on places that I never broke out before. I most usually have clear skin and occasionally break out on my forehead and a lot of comedones around my nose area to my eyebrows and was hoping this will clear that area out or reduce it. So the first month I used it, I started to break out but not with those oozing pimples, but those tiny pimples that weren't able to pop or squeeze. I got it all over my forehead and the side of my cheeks! I heard that when people first use AHA or BHA there's always a purge moment, so I stuck with it for a month and applied it every day. It came and went but after a month I got tired of these random pimples or bumps and rested my face for a couple of days. That's when I noticed that my face was starting to clear up and whoa, my face was clear, my original bumps ( the ones I wanted to get rid of in the beginning not the new ones that I was having) was reduced dramatically. My face was pretty clear, clearer than I ever had before. So a week or two past without me applying any AHA products and I noticed some pimples starting to form (hot weather I assume) and I applied the AHA that night and to my surprise, in the morning it was reduced and my face was a bit clearer. So I started to test out the product only when my face started to form pimples and applied it and noticed that every time that happened, my pimples reduced or vanished! Miracle product? So in conclusion, I would go lightly and slowly with this product, especially if you never used this product before. More isn't better with this product. My suggestion is so apply it every 3 days in the beginning and use a ph level face wash and ph level toner than apply the AHA and let it dry for 20 mins before applying another product. It's been a couple of months of me occasionally using this product every other day and it has kept my skin reduced those dorn comedones but not completely got rid of it. My pimples disappear in a day or two which is awesome. Also, don't use this product if you plan on going outside, it could result in a scaring.

I really needed a gentler chemical exfoliant for my skin, because my skin does not naturally sluff off (your outer layer of skin is supposed to naturally "fall" off). I had read on r/SkincareAddition that many users found this product helpful, I decided to give it a try. I am really loving it so far, so is my skin. My skin type is combination, with hormonal breakouts. I live in Wisconsin which has very diverse seasons, so it is crucial for me to use products that do not dry out my skin when the weather is cold, or increase skin sensitivity during the warmer months (burn easier in the sun). I have only been using the product for 4 weeks, long term results may be different. Cosrx AHA 7 is a great basic acid to add to any skincare regiment. I purchased this at the end of January and have been using it for a month now. It arrived quickly and in adequate package to make it through transit undamaged. It arrived in a basic white cardboard box and the product itself is housed in a clear plastic bottle. It is clearly labeled and I appreciate that lack of excessive packaging/hard to open container. It has a simple pump to dispense product and does not cause the liquid to come out so forcefully it splashes all over. The AHA has a strong medicinal smell to it that isn’t unpleasant and dissipates after a minute or two. I apply this after I have used Cosrx AHA/BHA toner and find that it only stings if I have an aggravated spot on my skin or an active pimple. It dries quickly and leaves no residue. I usually let it work it’s magic for 20 minutes before continuing on with the rest of my routine. When I first started using this product, I noticed an almost immediate positive result. My active acne was clearing up and my skin was much smoother and less clogged up. I quickly started using it nightly with it’s BHA counterpart. After a few days, I noticed that my skin was starting to break out again and have scaled back my use of both AHA and BHA acids. My skin has cleared up and I will resume use of it once a week to see how my face reacts. This won’t be a daily product for me, but I think it adds a nice weekly component to my routine.

it works, but be patient

i have had a roller coster experience with this product. i have read on multiple blogs and reviews that people dive straight in and use this product every other day or everyday. ok.... i did this and my face was an over exfoliated mess. it took two months to rebuild my moisture barrier and try it once again. my advice is to start sloooooooooow. i used this once a week for about a month and then worked my way up to twice a week and im still working my way up to three times a week. my skin didnt improve at first, but its looking a lot better. pores are getting smaller, my skin is looking more glowy, texture and cystic acne decreasing (no more whiteheads!) if i can make a suggestion, i use the cosrx skin returning asol as a toner in the evening and it has really helped, and then i use this product twice a week. i think this combo is really improving my skin. i want anyone reading this to remember that skin care is a journey, not really a destination, so if you have read in the past that this product made someones skin perfect in only two uses i would be very skeptical (full disclosure, when i used this product everyday my skin looked BOMB three days in but then quickly went to hell from that point on)

Great to keep pores clear

I've been using this for a few years now, at night, as a toner. In the mornings I use the corsx bha. These products are the only ones that help keep my skin clear. I have oily skin and get clogged pores very easily. Before using these, I used to squeeze my pores (I know, I shouldn't) weekly cus you can see the gunk, and masks and other products didn't work. This and the bha help keep my pores clear, there's no more gunk in them! I used to use Paula's choice but this is cheaper and I think more effective. AHA's are good! (And I'm glad they changed the name.)

I recently decided to add AHA's and BHA's to my Asian beauty skincare regimen. I did some research, and this Cosrx AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid got great reviews, despite its unfortunate name. (Cosrx has since changed the name.) Because I already use and love a few other Cosrx products, I bought this. I have mature, oily skin, and the path to brighter, clearer, smoother skin is a slow one. Considering I only use this once a week, yes, progress will be slow. However, on the nights that I do use this, I feel like my skin does look clearer and brighter in the morning. It feels like the other products I put on after using this penetrate a little deeper and work just a little better. This AHA liquid looks like water, but feels slightly heavier and sticker than water. It does have a slight scent to it. It's not pleasant, but it's also not strong enough to make me not want to use this. The scent fades immediately upon application anyway, so it's no biggie unless you're super sensitive to those kinds of things. How I use it as part of my nighttime skincare routine: Double cleanse my face. Maybe use a peeling gel. Apply Benton's Aloe & BHA Toner with a cotton pad. Wait 10 minutes. Apply a couple of pumps of the Cosrx AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid, concentrating on T-zone and eye wrinkles. Wait 20 minutes. Continue with rest of skincare regimen starting with either a sheet mask or a first essence. Time seems to be the biggest factor in getting results with BHA or AHA liquids. If you just slap the next product on with out giving the AHA or BHA time to work their magic, you're wasting product and money. I hope that helps. I like my results with this Power Liquid so far. I'm pretty sure that I will re-order when I get near the end of my current bottle.

Maybe a miracle product

I wish I had known about this product sooner! This has absolutely made my acne better, even after just a couple weeks. Fewer breakouts, the zits that I do get heal faster and are less intense, my skin is softer, and I feel like it's helped with some of my hyperpigmentation from acne scars (nothing revolutionary, but the scars are a tad lighter). I also agree with another reviewer that you can tell when you have a whitehead coming in because your face will sting for just a second in very specific spots when you put the product on. Here's a gross anecdote (sorry, but you're reading about acne treatments, so you'll hopefully understand): I occasionally get cystic acne--not bad, but one or two of those really deep pimples on my face that are painful to touch and never come to a head and take a couple weeks to clear up on their own. Anyway, I had one coming in as I started using AHA, but I immediately noticed that the intensity and duration of the pimple was waaaay less than it usually is. So, after about a week of AHA, I woke up, and the cyst had come to a nice little head (which my cysts NEVER do), and that was that. The product can be a little drying (less so than its BHA counterpart), but I have enough moisturizers in my routine to offset it. I will say that you should make sure you have a good sunscreen routine in place when you start using this because it makes you more photosensitive, even if you are using it at night.

shrinks my pores

I have combination skin and blackheads on my nose. As I get older, my pores got bigger on my T zone. I go to facials once a month and they would try to clean my nose and T zone but after a week or so, the blackheads come back. Finally I decided to invest in a clean and brilliant laser and got rid of the superfical layer of my skin. Afterwards, I have been using this whitehead power liquid twice daily for two weeks. My pores managed to stay small, almost invisible. I still have a few stubborn black heads on my nose and I am hoping they would eventually come out. I used Paula's choice 10% AHA before and thought that was good but I like this a lot more. First of all, Paula's AHA is runny like water and difficult to apply, this one has a consistency between water and gel, doesn't run off your fingers. Then Paula's AHA gives me a shine after I apply so I would never use that in day time and this one soaks in and have no effect (matte or shine) on your skin after it is absorbed so I can basically wear is whenever I want. Lastly, this is 1/3 of the price of Paula's. I am sold, will buy this again if I finish this bottle.

This stuff is incredible. This is meant for "white heads" meaning closed comedones—skin colored bumps that are acne deep beneath the skin. My forehead broke out into closed comedones, and after using 2-3 pumps of this for two nights, they're practically gone! Their blackhead power liquid is a BHA, and it's gentle enough for daily use. This one is more intense but it really, really works. I use the blackhead power liquid daily, and while it made my cheeks look gorgeous, my problem areas (chin and forehead) were still breaking out. I tried this again and MAN it really cleared up my skin. This is definitely the big guns. I'll use the blackhead power liquid for maintenance, but this one is amazing for when a breakout hits. Absolutely Amazing Product

This product completely changed my skin. I have very VERY oily skin and it is normally covered in whiteheads, along with it being very bumpy. I was working my way up into a Korean skincare routine, but I wasn't using an essence. After adding this product into my routine, literally all of my whiteheads are gone and my skin is incredibly smooth. The box says to work your way into using this product, but I figured my skin would be fine, so I use this everyday. It stings my skin, but that only lasts for a little while. I only use it at night before I go to sleep, because I don't think using it twice a day is a good idea. I don't use a serum, and use my missha super aqua clear cream right after this essence dries (although I thinking about adding a serum to help even my skin tone). I'm really happy that after 10 years of acne this product helped clear my skin. Also, for this product to work I believe it needs to be used in conjunction with other products. It may be an amazing product, but if you're not cleansing your skin right, then it will not work as effectively.

Okay i do like this product, it definitely either cleans out my nose pores, or shrinks them. Idk, i just know that my nose looks way better using this product. But be careful when you first start using it because it is strongggg. a little goes a long way. your face will get red and sting a little the first couple uses.

Skeptical, but am now a Believer

I’m 34 and experience extremely bad hormonal acne around that time of the month, and I am starting to get really big whiteheads that won’t come to a head and will cause really bad scarring, which is why I wanted to try this product based on reviews. I was extremely hesitant about the effectiveness of this product since I felt nothing upon applying it after getting out of the shower daily; However, I was pretty blown away by the results. I haven’t had a really big whitehead ever since I started using this product, I’m able to safely “pop” the hormonal pimples when they arrive now and my scarring is much less dark and it seems like the skin turnover rate is much faster now vs. before I started using the product. DID NOT ACHIEVE THE RESULT I PURCHASED IT FOR

Firstly, let me say I have mature skin which has basically been problem-free during adulthood. For some unknown reason, I had developed 4-5 whiteheads around my lip area that I wanted to rid myself of in the last year. Knew I should not try to squeeze them so researched how to treat. I purchased this item about 5 months ago and used as directed faithfully. There was no change to the majority of whiteheads, and one even got larger! Did the product improve skin-tone evenness…perhaps, but I have always used a quality skin care line and my skin looks good for my age. Regardless, I went yesterday to have the whiteheads professionally removed by my dermatologist. The jury is out on whether I would repurchase this product. Now that the whiteheads are gone, I will continue with my regular skin care regimen and see if my color, tone and evenness continue without using the product. I still have some liquid left if I need to go back to it while I await a reorder.

Great skin smoother and whiteheads diminishing!

I just started using this for whiteheads and have very sensitive skin. I also got TruSkin Vitamin C serum and was using them both. My face broje out badly. I stopped using the vitamin C serum and it cleared up, so I know it was caused from that and not the Whitehead liquid. I use MISSHA Time Revolution essence ( which I love) and then i put the Whitehead Liquid on as I would a serum before bed. I do not use a cotton ball. That wasted the product. I put the whitehead liquid on directly with my finger. The instructions say to use twice a week but I am going to slowly increase how often I use it. So far I have not had to use concealer as I was before. It has only been a couple weeks and I am already seeing my whiteheads get smaller and even the small starting of crows feet around my eyes are disappearing!
