I love it, but I know why you might not.
After 24 years of using whatever shampoo and conditioner my mother bought, I realized I’m definitely using products way too heavy for my fine hair. I did a lot of online research and found that this was one of the most recommended shampoos for fine hair. So far, I love it. I’ve used it a few weeks now and my hair seems so light and bouncy. The smell is good, not as strong and yummy as my old Bed Head shampoo and conditioner but it’s definitely not a bad smell. Since I cut my hair about collar bone length, all I use is this shampoo, no conditioner, and no more oil for my ends and things have been GREAT. Now, the poor reviews do hold weight so here’s why this shampoo might not be for you. People were complaining that it takes a lot of shampoo to get it sudsy and clean their hair and here’s how I found this is true. On a normal day, it takes me less than a quarter amount and it suds up just fine and cleans my hair great. BUT last week I curled my hair, used a texture spray, and wore it for two days applying more texture spray in between. When I went to wash it, it did not clean my hair. I woke up to greasy oily hair. So here’s the thing, if you have longer hair or use hair products on the daily, then no this shampoo is probably not worth it. You will need a large amount to clean your hair. If you’re like me, if you have short hair that’s usually always free from products, you’ll be just fine and your hair will look and feel amazing!

Skeptical Expectations turned to Happy Results
Happy Update: I had forgotten all about trying this shampoo (and the conditioner) 2 years ago when I came across it again and ordered the travel size of the shampoo. How could I have forgotten what this did to my hair? I recently moved to another state and something in the water, air, something was making my hair fall flat. I tried 3 different shampoos and all still same result: dull flat hair that looked limp and/or dirty the next morning. I ordered this and after one shampoo I remembered why I loved it so much! Shiny, healthy, fuller hair - look, this is no miracle treatment, but there is a noticeable difference to my hair than from the use of Biolage, Pur D'Or, and Paul Mitchel - this R+CO outshines them all (literally!). I walked in the room after I dried my hair and my granddaughter commented on how nice my hair looked and how shiny it was. And the next morning and in to the next day, so far, my hair doesn't look limp and dirty. I'll be ordering the full size! -------- This shampoo and conditioner gave me such volume for my baby fine thinner hair! I really am impressed. My hair is shiny and soft and full and stayed that way all day. The scent is very nice too. If you are scent-sensitive, you may not like this really apparent spicy scent but I enjoyed the experience. I ordered the sample to try as I've been disappointed before by shampoo and conditioner claims, but this is one I will definitely re-order in the full size. Lather: Enough lather for me - I'm used to sulfate-free shampoos that don't lather a lot. Rinsing out: The shampoo and conditioner both rinse out easily, and my hair feels thicker in the shower--there is a bit of a 'squeaky clean' feel, and that helps with baby fine hair. Look of hair: Very full and my hair even has some body, which it rarely does. Lots of shine. Feel of hair: soft but not too slippery (baby fine hair can be too slippery sometimes and fall flat). It feels as if I've been to the salon. Very happy with my order.

The absolute best feature about this product is that the manufacturer has provided the opportunity for you to purchase a sample!!!! Nothing is worse that reading multiple 5 star reviews, order the product and then it doesn't live up to the reviews for you, personally. I have fine hair and need something to give it volume. This product did not provide the volume I am seeking. However, it does give hair nice shine, pleasant fragrance and sleek feeing. Would highly recommend obtaining a sample prior to committing to the entire bottle. Kudos to the manufacturer - wish more manufacturers would offer samples.

Good but not amazing
I am two months postpartum with tons of very fine hair and was looking for a shampoo/conditioner to help minimize the hair loss that inevitably happens to me after childbirth. I can’t say it is working a ton, but I do like the product. The smell is somewhat woodsey, lathers well, detangles well, and seems to have similar impacts to my hair that other thickening products have (so it is probably helping). It does make my very fine hair feel less softened, somewhat dry even, and tends to lend to tangling more between washes. I will continue to use this until it’s gone, but probably won’t be purchasing it again.

Scent don’t make sense, but a really effective product
To start, I love the shampoo. It works really well, it does a great job actually cleaning my hair, and offers great volume. It’s very thick and rich, and lasts a surprisingly long time for the size. I wash my hair every other day on average. My hair is greasy by the time I get to washing it and this stuff powers through that and dry shampoo no problem. Apparently I’m the only one that has an issue with the scent? It’s totally manageable, but it smells exactly like several of my husband‘s products. It’s not overwhelmingly masculine, but the scent is more what I would consider to be a male-oriented profile. It doesn’t linger too much after it’s washed out, especially not if you use a different conditioner. But it’s something worth noting. Definitely doesn’t diminish the value or remove any stars. It was just surprising the first time I tried it.

This is by far the best shampoo and conditioner I’ve ever used. I have fine, limp hair, and it can dry out and look dull with other products. Not this one!! I have bounce, shine, and manageability!! Great for Flat Oily Hair
I’m a guy that gets very oily hair throughout the day which causes my hair to become flat. I do not like my hair flat and prefer to have it fluffy and this shampoo has started to help that process. It has been working better than other shampoo I’ve seen advertised as volume boosters. The scent is strong when applying, but does not stay in the hair which I honestly prefer. Doesn’t cause new growth
This is a nice sulphate-free shampoo that cleans very well and smells nice. But…I have been using it for about 5 years and there has been no change whatsoever in my hair growth or thickness. Since the price has gone up so much, I probably will look for a cheaper alternative now. If it actually DID cause new hair to grow or my hair to become thicker, I would continue with it. Must use the conditioner that goes with this
I bought this shampoo after getting their waterfall moisture lotion(love love that stuff). I've been using it for about a month. I have very thin wavy hair. I'm not super disappointed but I'm not a fan of the smell. It smells a bit masculine to me. It does leave my hair feeling super dry (while in the shower), but after using the conditioner that goes with it, it's fine. I think had i not gotten the conditioner, and not use Waterfall, I would be telling a different story. My hair does feel thicker, and does have more volume. I don't feel like it falls as flat as it used to. Even when I let it air dry it feels like there is more volume there. Overall it's ok. I'll see how my hair does after another month of use. Not sure if I'll use it again.

I've been using this shampoo since 2022 and HG for my hair. I have low density, coarse hair (asian) and kept my hair long since then. Hair is virgin and I use hair oil to maintain. The shampoo does not have much of a thickening affect for me but I had minimal breakage and split hairs. I did have some mild hair loss and the shampoo helped with hair growth (I have a lot of baby hairs). It lathers really well (you dont need much either) whether in soft or hard water and my hair feels clean but not squeaky.
