A NICE FEELING MOISTURIZER, BUT AN INEFFECTIVE FORMULA FOR REDUCING DARK SPOTS

There are several cosmeceutical products that effectively reduce hyperpigmentation, but this is not one of them. Although I own MANY Comfort Zone skincare products, and mostly love them all, this is not one that I can highly recommend. Included moisturizers like Shea butter and especially Shorea Stenoptera Seed Butter (which is particularly moisturizing), both give this spot treatment more of a creamy serum consistency that makes skin look fantastic. However, several of the ingredients have soothing or anti-inflammatory properties , not pigment lightening potential. The pigment corrector is actually 4-BUTYLRESORCINAL, which is the most potent hypopigmenting agent compared to typical lighteners: Kojic Acid, Hydroquinone, and Arbutin. That's really saying something because those other ingredients are typically found in a cream corrector like this. HOWEVER, as always, THE ORDER OF INGREDIENTS MATTERS, and the Top 5 ingredients are the ones that count. 4-BUTYLRESORCINAL is ingredient #8. The top five ingredients are: #1 Water, #2 denatured alcohol (an undesirable ingredient that dries the skin), #3 a humectant to prevent moisture loss, #4 glycerin, and finally #5 another emollient. It's a moisturizer with nothing that treats dark spots in a concentration that matters. Unfortunately, cosmetic companies assume or know that most consumers are not well-versed in skincare ingredients. It's enough for them to hype key ingredients as buzzwords that get us to buy products based on marketing hype, even if those ingredients are in negligible amounts that perform as claimed. This is basically a very nice feeling, scent-free moisturizer that has a really good spot corrector in it but it isn't a top ingredient or in enough concentration to really do any good. And there you have it. If you're expecting this to lighten pigmentation of any significance, you'll be waiting a very long time for nothing. It feels nice, so use it as a moisturizer and ALWAYS wear a good sunscreen. I never go below 50 SPF and prefer 70 or 100 , even if that's overkill, to prevent sunspots. Look elsewhere for a good pigment spot corrector. 2 stars as a moisturizer, thumbs down as a worthwhile spot corrector.

This product is quite pricey but a little goes a long way. I am starting to have a few age spots and sun spots peppered throughout my face. It isn't all that visible if you are looking at my face but for some reason when I'm looking at myself on the cellphone camera I can visibly see all the spots! I have been dabbing this on all of the spots the past few days. This product is very light and my skin absorbs it pretty quickly. There is no sticky or tacky feeling, nor does it feel heavy on the skin. It doesn't feel like I applied anything on my skin. So far I haven't had any reactions to it. I usually apply this at night before bed and let it work its magic while I sleep. It does say to use a high SPF (in the daytime) if you are using this product. I don't know what the expiration or manufactured date is on this product but this cream is good for 12 months after opening. You can see on the product label there is an image of an open jar with the letters "12M" on it, which is what that means. I can't comment on how effective this product is as all skincare products will take a few months to really see the results, so I can only report on how this product feels on my skin and the immediate reactions. The instructions do say that the clinically tested results were seen after 2 months of use, so I am going to keep using this and hopefully see some results then. Results aside, I like how this product feels on my skin, how it doesn't have any smell, and how quickly it gets absorbed by my skin. All those factors are pretty important as I've had other similar products that were overly fragranced or had a sticky/tacky feeling, which puts me off from even wanting to use the product on a daily basis.

Evens out and brightens!

All the years of laying out in the sun with nothing besides baby oil has all caught up to me at age 35 and I'm truly impressed with the results thus far! I've been using this daily going on 4 weeks but started noticing visible results around week 3. On top of this fading dark spots on my face it also has a nice texture, not too thick or greasy, absorbs quickly, and also has brightened and evened out my skin tone all while being suitable for my sensitive skin!

Great System, Powerful Product!

This arrives in a really nice box. Very minimalist and very chic. In the box, grab that tube. Now, you might be surprised to see a pump system. It's pretty cool because it allows the product to remain free from contamination. Love that! This has a very mild, almost unnoticeable scent. Super unobtrusive. And it disperses easily and turns clear instantly. Both are great! And, since you are only using this in very small amounts, in select areas, there is not worry about drying-down or stickiness. That's also pretty nice! When used consistently, this will make your skin more uniform. Undoubtedly. So, truly commit to this. It's going to take time, but it's also going to work. The reward is at the completion of this tube ... so keep using it and expect good things! Highly recommended!

Nice Feel

The [ comfort zone ] Sublime Skin Corrector is a beige fluid/cream that is provided in a one-ounce pump-dispenser tube. The Corrector felt very nice when I applied it. It should at one-hundred dollars for one ounce. It was quickly absorbed, leaving my skin hydrated. As for spot removal, I do not know if I have the patience for a two-month tryout.

This very clearly states it takes at a minimum, TWO MONTHS for visible results. First impression, it has no fragrance and absorbs so readily and rapidly that I was unable to tell it was there. I put moisturizer on over this serum and called it a day. The ingredients look effective to me, though I've not used this for 2 months yet and I'm unable to say whether this will for certain lighten up these old age spots I've begun to acquire. Comfort Zone is a brand I trust, however, so I feel good about using this product. I'm a month in to using this.

I have sun and age spots along my cheeks that I’ve been trying to get rid of. I’ve tried various products and they all lighten them somewhat but they are still present. Comfort Zone sublime skin corrector seem to work the same but it will take about 2 months to see significant results. I will update my review with results if there’s anything significant.

Promising!!

I am very excited for the future after using this dark spot corrector by comfort zone. It arrived quickly and well packaged. It is a very non-greasy dinner type substance. It is very easy to use on certain spots and it does not bleed onto the rest of the face. It has no discernible odor. I’ve had no negative reactions. I’ve been using it for about a week and so far I swear that my pregnancies mask line is much less than it was a week ago! I’m very hopeful!

Sometimes magic takes time.

I have been using this product fairly regularly for several weeks, nearly two full months. It took some time, but I can say now that I do believe it has faded a spot I had on the back of my hand. That was my test spot, and it is definitely lighter after using this product! Magic isn't always fast, y'all. This is the third or fourth product in the [comfort zone] line that I've tried. I have loved all the others, and this is another winner. It's a great skincare line. All their products are pretty clean, and are free from parabens, sulfates, phthalates, silicones, and artificial colors. They are also completely cruelty-free! From the [comfort zone] website: "We do not test our products on animals, nor do we ask others to test either our products or ingredients on animals. Animal testing does not align with our values." I love a company that makes their ideals and ethical practices so clear, especially one that loves animals as much as I do! This product is expensive, no way around that. Personally, the few dark spots I do have don't bother me too much, but if yours bother you, try this stuff and be patient. It will be worth the money and the wait. Pricey but effective

My 60-year-old mother has been using this for a few months now and I can confidently say that the results are spectacular. Most of the spots on her face have diminished significantly, although it takes a few months to notice the effects. There is little to no scent and the cream itself is moisturizing without being tacky or sticky after applying it. She had no allergic reactions to it, despite having reactions to many other products. It is lightweight and absorbs fast. Comfort zone knows what they're doing, but the only negative is the price. It is significantly pricier than other products. This is definitely a luxury product. Also, the packaging isn't the best. It doesn't 'feel' luxury like many other makeup products in the $$$.

seems ok

i don’t really have age spots but i use products like this to help with lightening any acne spots that are taking too long to heal and i think it helps? it’s expensive so i have higher expectations with products that cost $100+ and i think this falls short because i’ve used cheaper similar products that did the same or more. i usually avoid skin lightening products unless it’s like vitamin c because i have uneven skin tone and it doesn’t seem like this is meant for applying on your whole face, so i don’t think it’s for me. ymmv tho, it seems that it works for some people and not so much for others. either way it wasn’t irritating to my slightly sensitive skin and it absorbs well and doesn’t leave my skin greasy.

Slow progress, but progress

I’m using this on melasma, the toughest pigmentation to fade. I also have been applying on a couple sun spots on my hand. I am starting to see it lighten but its slow. I will also mention this caused redness and irritation a couple times when I applied it above my upper lip for the melasma there... I don’t usually have super sensitive skin so if you do be cautious. I’m a bit hesitant to put it on that area again as prolonged irritation can cause worsening of hyperpigmentation! So unfortunately I can only use it in other areas of my face and my hand. Hoping to see more progress with this soon.

"Visible results in 2 months". If you're saying that it doesnt work after 2 days of use, then you arent giving it fair enough time. Disclosure: I have not been using this that long, but I feel comfortable giving it an early impression review. If you have used skin correctors before, then you know that it takes several weeks or months of consistent use. It is not going to happen within a couple of days. Usually I end up trying a different product when I run out. My main need for products like this is to address light melasma on my forehead and a couple clusters of freckles (I dont dislike freckles, but I have a few that make a weird configuration on my face. Lighteners do help! Just be consistent, AND be sure to use sunscreen etc). Also, I aim to keep the backs of my hands clear, as well as forearms. I have high hopes for this product. I am only trying it because I am already familiar with and impressed by [Comfort Zone] products, otherwise I may not have bothered. Finding a good skin corrector can be frustrating because if they dont work (and you wont know for a couple of months) it ends up feeling like a waste of time. Hence my perception of these products being good & effective bodes well for this product to work. Can be used to spot treat. No need to slather all over. Little goes a long way, so this will last me a long while certainly. I have no complaints with how it feels or absorbs. All good! I dont rate on price, but $119 is a little more than my other skin correctors ($60-90).

I used this on both a dark cheek pigment spot and some raised age spots. I’ve almost used the entire tube. I found this quite effective at minimizing age spot roughness. However it did very little to lighten my dark spot. I like the product and the applicator but I was hoping for more efficacy on my dark spot.

Normally the products from this line are five star, but I'm only giving this one four stars because it's taking forever to fade my summer freckles. I've used other products that worked more quickly. I have several products in the [comfort zone] skincare line and for the most part I like them, tolerate them well, and feel comfortable using them. This 'skin corrector' is for those sun spots or what-have-you that one can have as one becomes older. I have a few sun damage spots so I'll use this, sparingly. However, as with any skincare product, it takes time. Longer time than I have to wait to write this review. We are talking months here, not days or even weeks. Expecting a product to work immediately likely will not happen. So with skincare I either like a product because of how it feels, looks, smells or not-smells, how easily it glides on my skin, how much information the product gives me, etc. They do have a good informative website and that helps me make decisions as well, knowing a little about the company and its products. $101 is super high though. With so many choices out there in skincare, you can find less expensive but still effective alternatives. However, if you like [comfort zone] products, then you'll like this one.

Effective, but has a weird scent

I want to love this product, but the scent is off to me. It feels absolutely wonderful on my face and has some amazing ingredients. Unfortunately, the scent is very medicinal and unpleasant. I would have liked it better with a little vanilla essential oil to make it more pleasant. I think it is very effective and a lot of people would really like it, but because of my sensitivity to scents I am not pleased with it. Still, I think it is effective and good for a lot of people who are not as sensitive to smells as I am.

Doubtful I'll see results

I like some of the Comfort Zone products but I really don't like the addition of alcohol in this product. I really try to avoid this additive in products that I put on my skin. I like the packaging of this product and the way in which you apply it. Irritated Skin, But Didn't Do Anything for Discoloration

Comfort Zone skincare line bills itself as "conscious skin science," which they define to mean plant-based, natural ingredients, made and sourced with an eye on sustainability. This pricey spot treatment for hyperpigmentation, melasma, and age spots uses a brightening complex to try and lighten dark spots and other skin discolorations. Despite Comfort Zone's natural overtones, they do this via a chemical cocktail of active ingredients they dub "Tri-White Complex." You should use this sparingly not just due to the sky-high price, but also because it can cause dryness and flaking for sensitive skin. I used it on some mild melasma/discoloration I have on one cheek and didn't see any real difference, but after a couple of days of use did have dry, scaly patches. Won't be continuing use.

Denatured Alcohol Is Drying & Bad For The Skin Yet It’s The Second Ingredient, Better Alternatives

Denatured alcohol is the second ingredient in this Comfort Zone Sublime Skin Corrector. That’s one of the worst things I could use on my dry, sensitive, mature skin. Non fatty alcohols of this type are far too drying for my skin and can damage the skin‘s natural barrier regardless of skin type. It can cause inflammation, redness, irritated skin, breakouts and so on. Per Paula’s Choice: “Alcohol harms your skin’s protective surface, depletes vital substances needed for healthy skin, and makes oily skin worse. To put it simply, it’s pro-aging. Given the hundreds of skin-friendly alternatives that are available, it’s a no-brainer to abstain from products front-loaded with the skin damaging forms of alcohol.” I tried this Skin Corrector twice on a small dark spot, but my skin can’t tolerate alcohol so I discontinued use. I can’t say if it’s effective, but I wouldn’t use it even if it works. I’ve used alcohol free products that minimized or got rid of my dark spots. And one large spot on my face was so stubborn I had it lasered off 100% by a skilled dermatologist for little more than the $119 price of this product (and the session included spots on my chest and hands). Not recommended. 2 stars.

Didn't work

I used this spot corrector twice daily for two and a half months and did not notice it lighten one dark spot even a little. I'm so glad I didn't buy this because it's way too expensive to not work and after use it would have been after the return date. It works as a nice moisturizer, but not for that price. Would not recommend!

No Changes

Age spots are nearly impossible to lighten without professional help. The good news for me is that, at nearly 60, I only have one. The bad news is that it's right in the center of my face, on the bridge of my nose. I gamely applied this Comfort Zone Skin Corrector nightly for three weeks. According to the package, clinically tested results occurred in two months. And while that may be the case, I have seen 0% change in my age spot so I don't think the extra time will make any difference. Part of the issue for me is that this is not a thick cream but a thin lightweight serum. It's nearly impossible to keep this in place on the bridge of my nose. While I'm not willing to write this off entirely, I can only say that it hasn't been effective for my particular issue.
