Pro-Ageing Shampoo… Apparently Very Committed to the “Pro” Part
I was actually excited to try this Pro-Ageing shampoo. Although I have to admit, I paused for a second. Pro-ageing? So we are leaning into it now? Bold branding choice. The real plot twist, however, was the ingredient list. Once I managed to read the tiny print on the bottle, I did what I always do and ran it through the Yuka app. I expected something middle of the road. Maybe a polite 65. A respectable 72. It scored a dramatic 0 out of 100. Zero. Not even a participation trophy. The app flagged three high-risk ingredients, including DEP, Methylisothiazolinone, and Methylchloroisothiazolinone. Some of these are restricted or banned in certain countries for leave-on products and tightly limited even in rinse-off formulas. At that point, the “pro-ageing” name started to feel less mysterious and more… committed. I am usually open to trying different products, but this one made me hesitate. I honestly laughed a little out of disbelief, then decided my scalp does not need to participate in this science experiment. For me, this is a hard pass. If ingredient safety matters to you, definitely read the label carefully before tossing this into your shower lineup.
I don't know what people mean about the missing ingredient list because it's definitely on the bottle... Exactly where you'd expect it to be? The shampoo lathers well. It's very hydrating. It has some stuff that's made to redensify the hair fiber so I do feel a little bit of "stuff" on my hair but it doesn't make my hair look greasy or anything. If you have a very sensitive scalp, the MCI/MI preservatives might end up making your scalp itch. If you have a normal scalp and your hair needs hydration, you will feel like Cinderella getting that slipper on her foot. Not all shampoos are made for each person and that is definitely the case here. This does have a fragrance. It's slightly akin to perfume (meaning it's not just the smell of the ingredients, but also something a little extra). I don't mind it, and it doesn't cling to the hair. I don't smell it later in the day. With this shampoo, start with less and lather well. I notice if I use too much the results aren't as good.
Great product! I've tried a few Lakmé products and they never disappoint. I have graying hair so need some extra TLC in terms of softness and to tame what has now become crazy dry gray hair sprouts. I also have thin hair, so it can easily get weighed down. This shampoo smells similar to a salon shampoo, or one you'd use after dyeing your hair. It's not heavily perfumed, and doesn't linger, but it is scented. It is lightweight when washing, doesn't tangle my thin hair and it's not hard to rinse out. I can get by with a light conditioner, as well. My hair isn't weighed down and I do think it's made my hair softer and more manageable. It is on the spendier side, especially given the bottles size, but I find it to be gentle and does add softness to my hair. I am a daily washer, so this might be better used in an every other day basis or every other other day basis, depending on your budget. However, as a daily washer it's been gentle on my hair, hasn't made greasy, which I am prone to at days end. Overall, I really like it. Depending on your budget, and frequency of use, I'd recommend it!
Wanted: A Ritual Guide and a Full Ingredient List. Last Seen: Nowhere.
Lakmé Teknia Pro-Ageing Shampoo showed up with a lot to say -- "Renewal Shampoo," "pre-treatment," "scalp stimulator," "ritual starter." Ironically, the one topic it skipped entirely was its own ingredient list. At $40 a bottle, washing hair is the lowest bar -- and a $4 drugstore shampoo clears it just as well, with full transparency to boot. ▪️ A Shampoo or a Step? Yes. The bottle says shampoo. The marketing says pre-treatment scalp ritual starter. The directions say nothing helpful. Sherlock Combs is back on the case. The ritual guide and the ingredient list seem to have disappeared together, and the directions offer no leads. To be fair, a shampoo that actually reaches the scalp has a fighting chance at those renewal claims -- unlike the serum, which never quite explained how it planned to get there. ▪️ Still Combing for Ingredients: For a premium product, hiding the ingredient panel in favor of marketing buzzwords like "RenewAge" is a major red flag. For anyone tracking protein balance, silicones, or allergens, this level of opacity is a deal-breaker. The product listing, seller images, other reviewer photos, the brand website, and a general internet search all came up empty -- and the physical packaging was no help either. ▪️ Scent: More Lab Than Luxury: Where the serum leaned citrus and vetiver, this shampoo goes noticeably more chemical -- clinical, even. It did not linger after rinsing, but it is not the spa sensory experience those glossy ritual images would lead you to expect, and at $4 per ounce, the vibe should be a lot more luxe. ▪️ Performance and Results: On my 2C/3A curls, this shampoo offered no slip and left my bleached hair feeling thirsty and tangled straight out of the rinse. I had to follow up with heavy conditioning just to get back to a manageable starting point. At $40, a clean scalp and happy ends should be the bare minimum -- not the best thing it had to offer. ▪️ Bottom Line: The Lakmé Teknia Pro-Ageing Shampoo washes hair -- but at $40 a bottle, a clean should be the starting point, not the highlight. The identity crisis in the directions, the chemical scent, the missing ingredient list, and a performance that left my curls reaching for backup all raise the same question the marketing never answers: where exactly is that ritual experience? ✅ Worth considering if: ▪️You have a resilient hair type that does not rely on slip or hydration from a shampoo ▪️You are committed to the full Pro-Ageing line and want the matching bottle ▪️Scent and ingredient transparency are not priorities for you ❌ Skip if: ▪️Your hair needs slip and hydration from a shampoo ▪️Ingredient transparency matters to you before purchasing ▪️You are expecting a luxury sensory experience to match the price tag

Lakme Teknia Peo-Aging Shampoo
This shampoo lathers extremely well, especially considering it is sulfate free. I used it several times before I realized how small of an amount of shampoo I actually needed to produce a rich lather. It contains ingredients such as sodium lauryl sulfoactetate and disodium laureth sulfosuccinate to clean hair without actually using sulfates. The scent isn’t overwhelming and it doesn’t last too long, so that hasn’t been an issue for me, although I prefer natural scents instead of added fragrance. It contains Horse Chestnut seed extract, but I don’t really notice many other natural ingredients in this vegan formula. Overall, I think this shampoo works well for fine hair, because it cleans it well and doesn’t weigh it down. I just don’t think I could bring myself to pay $40 for only a 10.2 ounce bottle of it, however.

Thin, runny, oily
I’m pretty sure that this shampoo landed in someone else’s shower before it landed in mine. There was no seal, plastic wrap or grabber tape, just an unprotected bottle with slimy shampoo residue all over the outside of it. For that reason, I almost didn’t even try it. But for review purposes, I did. It was so runny and thin that it almost appeared to be watered down. When I lathered it in my hair it felt so oily, I immediately rinsed it out and rewashed my hair with a different shampoo – twice. The best thing I can say about this shampoo is that the smell wasn’t terrible, not good, but not the worst. I’m not really picky about shampoo but this one was a miss all around for me.

Leaves My Thin Hair Soft With a Little Extra Volume
I’m always looking for hair products that will help keep my hair healthy and give it a little more body. The Lakmé Teknia Pro-Ageing Shampoo is sulfate-free, vegan, and silicone-free, and it’s designed for mature or thinning hair. It also includes ingredients like RenewAge Complex and DN-Age®, which are supposed to help strengthen hair and protect it from everyday damage. I have long, thin, straight hair, and this shampoo cleans it well without weighing it down. My hair feels soft afterward and seems to have a bit more volume, which I always appreciate since my hair tends to fall flat. It also leaves my hair looking shiny and healthy. It comes in a really pretty blue bottle, although I did notice mine didn’t have a safety seal. The shampoo has a light fruity scent that I find pleasant and not overpowering. Overall, I think it’s a nice everyday shampoo if you’re looking for something gentle that still gives fine hair a little lift.

Great shampoo
This Shampoo works great for me. My hair felt softer, healthier, and more manageable. The shampoo feels very gentle on my scalp and foams up really well. My scalp feels refreshed after each wash, and my hair looks shinier and smoother. It also has a pleasant, subtle fragrance that reminds me of a flower. Overall, this shampoo is a fantastic option if you’re looking for a gentle yet effective shampoo that helps rejuvenate and strengthen your hair. It leaves hair feeling clean, soft, and healthy.

Gentle
This is a really nice, gentle shampoo. It's not stripping or drying and it makes my hair and scalp feel hydrated but it doesn't leave my hair feeling weighed down. It has a very light scent but it's very subtle so it's great for those who are averse to heavily fragranced products. This probably isn't going to work very well for individuals with oily scalps or for those who require a really clarifying shampoo because this one just isn't formulated for that; it's intetended to be less harsh and more nourishing. With that said, this is perfect for those with sensitive scalps or hair that's dry and prone to breakage and I've definitely appreciated having this in my routine for days when my hair just needs a little extra TLC.

Helps a bit with hair feeling fuller!
This is a decent shampoo that has a rich lather that rinses out easily. It has a pleasant scent and the tall slimmer bottle fits nicely in my shower. I appreciate that it's sulfate free and it targets both scalp and hair health. A lot of products only target the hair and forget the scalp. This has two actives in it that help thicken the hair and also slow down ageing/graying. Not sure how all that works, but my hair does feel fuller and softer with consistent use. $40 is not the cheapest shampoo but it's also not super pricey for what you're getting as this isn't an average drug store shampoo. If it's within budget, I recommend giving it a try!

Salon-quality feel, gentle on scalp and not overpowering
This shampoo feels more like something you’d get from a salon than a typical drugstore product. It lathers well without needing much, and it rinses clean without leaving my hair feeling stripped or dry. After a few washes my hair felt soft and my scalp didn’t feel irritated or overly dry, which is something I usually pay attention to with new shampoos. The scent is pleasant but not too strong, which I appreciate since some hair products can be overwhelming. It’s marketed as a “pro ageing” scalp and hair care product, and while I can’t speak to long-term anti-aging benefits yet, it does leave hair looking healthy and manageable. The only small downside is the price compared to regular shampoo, but the overall quality feels higher than average. Good option if you’re looking for a more salon-style shampoo that’s gentle on the scalp.

Works good, a little thin and a "little" expensive
This is a good shampoo, it's a little thin, but it does the job. It lathers up pretty easily and has that typical fresh salon shampoo smell to it. Used it over the last 8 or 9 days almost daily and it did a decent job at moisturizing the hair and scalp. It was used on both regular and colored hair with no issues. It also did a pretty good job with oily hair. Overall, it's a decent, salon style shampoo that's good at moisturizing and gentle on the scalp. While it's good shampoo overall, I feel it's too thin of a formula and the bottle is too small for me to consider this as a good value.

It’s decent and works but my hair type wasn’t as big of a fan
So far I like this shampoo. I think the scent isn’t too overpowering and it honestly wears off mostly relatively fast after use in my opinion. That said it leaves my hair with a gently refreshed scent and very clean. Do I think it’s helping the strengthening aspect? I’m not sure. My hair seems to be a little healthier. I do not have the matching conditioner so I paired it with a similar acting one and I do feel thy are helping with it a little. It does not make my hair feel particularly silky after the shampoo itself like some others do I noticed though. Am I impressed at the cost and results? I’m not sure. I have others I spent money on in this range and I prefer them and feel they have more to offer with more result. They smell nicer and more quality perhaps though this one isn’t gross. I think this is a good shampoo and does what it says but my hair doesn’t react as happily to it perhaps and it dries it out a little with too often of use. I now wash with it every three days and happily get better results so maybe for some that’s the answer is balancing it for your hair type like I did.

Love this more than I expected
I got this along with the serum and I’m very impressed with how well they worked in my hair. I’m in my 40’s with some hair texture change (coarseness) due to more and more grays popping up. Usually I double wash my hair with the same shampoo but occasionally I will first wash with a clarifying shampoo if I’ve used extra products in my hair which is what I did before I used this. I didn’t know how concentrated this shampoo actually was so I put about 2 tbsp in my palms and worked it in and it bubbled up like crazy; I could tell this shampoo is more concentrated than many I’ve been using, it’s definitely as concentrated as a high-quality salon shampoo. The biggest difference I noticed right away when I rinsed it out is my hair felt soft, almost as if I had already conditioned it. I was immediately impressed by this. (I did, of course, use conditioner anyway.) My hair type is slightly wavy, partially straight, currently about shoulder-blade length. The best definition would be Irish curls. This shampoo worked exceptionally well for my hair type I don’t know if they offer a conditioner in this line but I’d be inclined to buy it after seeing how much I like this shampoo.

Smells great and hydrating
Really nice shampoo. I love the smell- it’s clean and stays without being overpowering. This has been wonderful for hydration on my color treated hair, and my scalp has felt more hydrated as well. This creates a nice lather and left my hair soft, clean and with less frizz too. Very happy with this.

Extra Care For Aging Hair
All my life I've had fine thin hair that's been somewhat difficult to work with. Now that I'm in the latter stage of my life, it's even worse. Because of that, I really need to be even more careful with what sort of a shampoo that I use. This shampoo is ideal for my hair type. It conditions without oiling up my scalp too much or weighing down my hair. Lathers up nicely without having to use too much. Cleans really well and helps to stimulate my scalp. When using, I like to let it sit in my hair for a good 10 minutes or so before rinsing out so that I can get full benefit from the ingredients in this shampoo. I could feel a mild bit of stimulation on my scalp which felt great. When it came time for rinsing, it rinsed out easily without leaving a waxy buildup. After all was said and done, my hair and scalp looked good and felt nice, from scalp to the ends of my hair. My hair was manageable and had a nice shine without being oily. Made my hair and scalp feel healthier. My only issue with this shampoo is the exorbitantly high price of $40 (today's price) for a 10.2 fluid ounce bottle. As mentioned, you don't need to use much at all per session, but it's expensive for most users, especially for seniors. But if you can swing it, it's a good shampoo.

Biotin-enhanced strength for a rejuvenated scalp
As hair ages, it can become thinner and more brittle. This Pro-Ageing shampoo is formulated with Biotin to strengthen the hair fiber from the root and rejuvenate the scalp. It provides a deep but gentle cleanse that leaves hair feeling more voluminous and resilient. The 10.2 fl oz bottle is perfect for daily or every-other-day use. It helps restore the natural bounce and shine that can fade over time, making it a great choice for anyone looking to maintain a youthful, healthy head of hair. The professional-grade formula smells incredible and provides a noticeable difference in hair texture after just a few washes.

Not sure what the scent is, but this has helped my hair be shinier
I'm not sure if this has helped with aging at all?? However I do believe this has made my hair shinier and smoothed my scalp and face skin better. My hair feels stronger and just looks less frizzy than normal since I've started using it. I think the biotin in the shampoo has also helped calm down my scalp and has contributed to the smoothness of the skin on my face as well. It has a mild scent that isn't overwhelming, I can't really pinpoint what the scent is though.

Love it
Delightfully light fragrance that somehow makes me think of summer days. Turns into a beautiful lather that's easy to work in and rinse out of the hair. Actually made my hair nice and silky, felt fluffy and light and the fragrance stuck around quite well too which I did greatly enjoy. I got a whiff of it now and then and would shove my hair in my partner's face so we can both enjoy its fragrance. Would recommend despite the higher price tag, I used the usual amount and it created thick, rich suds so I could have used a lot less to get my hair clean. Very pleased!

Luxurious Feel & Great Scent, but a Bit Heavy for Fine Hair
I’ve been using the Lakmé Teknia Pro-Ageing Shampoo for a little while now, and there is a lot to like if you enjoy a "salon-at-home" feel. The first thing I noticed is the consistency; the shampoo is quite thick and feels very concentrated, which usually signals a high-quality formula. The Highlights: The Scent: One of my favorite parts is the fragrance. It is very light and sophisticated—not at all overpowering or "chemical," which makes the washing process really pleasant. Strengthening Ingredients: It’s infused with Biotin, and you can definitely feel that "redensifying" effect. My hair feels stronger and has a bit more "substance" after it’s dried. A Note for Fine Hair: While the shampoo is clearly high-end, I did run into a few hurdles with my fine hair. Because the formula is so rich and thick, I found it a little difficult to rinse out completely. If you don't spend extra time under the water, it can leave a bit of a film behind. The Bottom Line: Is it better than a standard drugstore brand? In terms of the sensory experience and the ingredient list (like the Pro-Ageing complex), yes. However, in terms of daily manageability for my specific hair type, the results were fairly similar to more affordable options. Verdict: If you have dry, thick, or mature hair that needs heavy-duty hydration and strengthening, this is likely a 5-star product for you. If you have fine hair like mine, just be prepared to rinse twice as long!

mixed experience
I tried this Pro-Ageing shampoo hoping it would help with some early thinning, and there are things I like about it—along with a few deal-breakers. The ingredient list IS clearly printed on the bottle, and the shampoo lathers well. It’s definitely hydrating, and I can feel the “redensifying” ingredients coating my hair, though it doesn’t leave it looking greasy. The fragrance leans slightly perfumed, but it doesn’t linger, which I appreciate. My experience, though, has been mixed. Even with a good rinse, it leaves a noticeable film on my hair, and my long, wavy texture ends up feeling weighed down. I normally wash every four days, but with this shampoo I could only stretch to two before my scalp felt like it needed another cleanse. Double-washing with a clarifying shampoo first helped a bit, but that coated feeling was still there, and I still had some frizz at the roots the next day. I will say: if you have a very sensitive scalp, the MCI/MI preservatives might be irritating. And if your hair is extremely dry, this level of moisture might actually feel amazing. For me, though (normal scalp, wavy hair, and not wanting a heavy coating) this just isn’t the right fit. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I also found it a bit too expensive given the performance.

Not sure about the longevity benefits
I have no way to evaluate if Teknia Scalp & Hair Care Pro-Ageing Shampoo by Lakmé actually has any longevity benefits for my hair. It works okay for me as a shampoo, but I have to be careful to rinse really thoroughly, or else it leaves my hair feeling slightly coated and weighted down. I assume that's from the boitin, and it's possible that by rinsing so much out, I'm negating some of the strengthening effect. Though, since I'm using a rinse-out conditioner afterward too, it's hard to be sure which part of the effect is from the shampoo and which is from the conditioner. As another review has already mentioned, for some reason, the description online doesn't list the ingredients, so you can't make an educated decision ahead of time about whether or not this formula is right for you based on that. Other Lakmé hair care products I've ordered have listed the ingredients up front, so I'm not sure why this one doesn't include that information.

This Teknia Pro-Ageing shampoo comes in a plastic easy to open flip top lid bottle. The shampoo does have a slight scent to it. Pleasant Everyday Shampoo, Premium Price Tag
I’ve been using the Lakmé Teknia Pro-Ageing Shampoo, which is marketed as a restorative, anti-aging formula designed to strengthen, hydrate, and improve the overall look and feel of mature hair. At 43, I haven’t noticed any major aging-related changes in my hair aside from it becoming a bit curlier over time, and using this product hasn't really blown my mind. That said, I did enjoy using it. The scent is light, clean, and unobtrusive, which I always appreciate, and it lathers nicely, giving a satisfying, thorough cleanse. My hair felt clean and refreshed after each wash without feeling stripped or overly dry, which is definitely a plus. However, I didn’t notice any standout results beyond that. I didn’t see a significant difference in strength, fullness, or overall hair health compared to other shampoos I’ve used. While it performs well as a basic shampoo, it didn’t quite deliver on the more premium “pro-ageing” claims in a noticeable way for me. Considering the price point of around $40 for a 10.2 oz bottle, I would expect something a bit more transformative. It’s a good shampoo, but for me, it doesn’t quite justify the higher cost.

Overall, it is enhanced with premium ingredients like biotin, amino acids, rice protein, etc that is supposed to help with hair rejuvenation. This is on the expensive end as it is a luxury brand and provides an okay value.

Too hydrating for me
I am a woman "of a certain age" and I'm currently dealing with a bit of perimenopausal hair thinning at my temples. Because of this, I loved the idea of a pro-aging shampoo to encourage my scalp to hang on to every hair for as long as possible. Unfortunately, this Lakme shampoo is just too moisturizing for me. I have long, wavy hair and normal skin on my face and scalp (not too dry and not too greasy) and I typically can go about four days between hair washes. The first time I tried the Lakme Teknia shampoo, I noted that it lathered up very well, but when I rinsed it out it just felt like it wasn't rinsing clean. I rinsed and rinsed and rinsed, and yet it still felt like there was a film on my hair. I hoped that at least the super-hydrating shampoo would mean that I wouldn't get my normal frizzies near my scalp, but no, I still wound up with a halo of frizz when I pulled my hair back into a ponytail the next day. I was only able to go two days between washes, and on the third day I had to wash my hair again. This time, I tried double cleansing by using a clarifying shampoo first and then the Lakme. That left my scalp feeling cleaner, but I still had the sensation of a film on my hair after rinsing out the Lakme. I'm giving this three stars because although it doesn't work for me, I think it might be good for someone who has a dry skin type and extremely dry hair.

This shampoo might work well for some hair types, but it didn’t do my baby fine hair any favors. It felt moisturizing at first, but after drying my hair felt weighed down and looked a little greasy rather than light and clean. I was hoping for something that would help with balance and volume, but it seemed a bit too heavy for fine hair. The scent is nice and the formula seems high quality, but unfortunately it just wasn’t the right match for my hair type.
