This is everythinggggg I could’ve dreamed of.
I LOVE this brush for a number of reasons. 1. The detangling. It went through my coarse curly hair and my 2 year old daughters softer curly hair (that has a lot of knots) with minimal effort and no tears (from either of us)! This was with wet hair after shampoo and conditioner and it has never been this easy. 2. The size of the paddle is do I dare say… perfect? The other brushes I have tried (Tangle Teezer Naturally Curly Hair Brush, Wet Brush Thick Hair Detangling Brush, Denman Curly Hair Bush) were narrower, which I would previously prefer since I would have to brush my hair in smaller sections just to detangle, but this brush glides through so well making the wider paddle work! 3. The bristles. The length of the bristles are long enough to penetrate my thickkkk hair. They are flexible and soft on my scalp unlike the Tangle Teezer and Denman which feels scratchy. The bristles on the Wet Brush are firmer and much less forgiving although I have also tried multiple of the Wet flexible detangling brushes too, but the bristles always broke after a few uses. The Tangle Teezer bristles on mine and my daughters are very firm. With this brush, I didn’t want to stop brushing my hair because it was effortless and actually felt good. 4. The hair doesn’t stay trapped in the brush. I have to brush my other brushes with a fine tooth comb or rinse in water to remove the trapped hair and even then it doesn’t all come out. I can effortlessly grab the hair from this brush with my hand saving time and my patience. 5. Its vented and doesn’t stay wet making it perfect for the shower! With that being said, I cannot speak to the durability of the brush since I just received it today. Nor can I speak to the curl definition afterwards since I applied a mask and I did not style my hair. However, I will say I have been contemplating cutting my hair very short (can’t-make-a-ponytail-short) due to the amount of time, shedding, and overall headache my hair has caused in the past few months.. But now!? Shiii I’m gonna keep my hair for a little bit longer, because tonight it finally felt manageable. It also swayed me away from considering a texture softener just to struggle less with fighting to detangle and style it. I was that fed up. Anywho 10/10. Highly suggest you try for yourself! Did not disappoint me!

For about six months, it effortlessly detangled my hair, was gentle on my scalp, and the anti-static feature was a bonus. However, my satisfaction was short-lived. Around the half-year mark, I noticed the bristles began to snap off. This deterioration was gradual and not immediately noticeable, but over time, it significantly affected the brush's performance. The broken bristles created sharp edges that not only damaged my hair but also posed a risk to my scalp. It was disappointing to find that such a promising brush turned out to be less durable than expected. The most concerning part is how these broken bristles can go unnoticed at first, leading to unintentional damage to both hair and scalp. While the brush was excellent initially, its lack of longevity is a major drawback. In conclusion, I give the Janeke Superbrush 4 stars for its initial performance. However, potential buyers should be aware of its durability issues. It's a fantastic brush when new, but be prepared for possible bristle breakage in the long term.

The Hype Didn’t Match My Expectations
Before this brush I had a brush from Tangle Teezer and it was my favorite brush, but it was time to replace it and I wanted to try something new. I saw positive video reviews on TikTok, and many influencers use this brush, so I decided to order it. I thought I would say “WOW!” the first time I used this brush, but that didn’t happen. I really thought it was some kind of magic brush because everyone praises it. I decided to experiment and ordered a similar brush from China! And you know what? I liked the brush from China more than the original. I’ll explain why: Original brush: ✅ Easily detangles hair ✅ Makes blow-drying easier ✅ Doesn’t tear wet hair ✅ Easy to clean ✅ Lightweight ❌ The bristles are hard ❌ My hair became static ❌ Difficult to create a smooth ponytail Brush from China: ✅ Has the same "+" as the original brush, but ✅ The bristles are softer ✅ And my hair doesn’t get static. ❌ Difficult to create a smooth ponytail. Perhaps I just haven’t mastered the art of hairstyling with this brush yet, but the fact that I prefer the brush from China over the original really surprised me! But I hope that over time it will become softer and will stop making my hair static, as people write in reviews, and that this money was not wasted.

It’s really about the hype
It’s an okay brush. It’s a lot of hype for a pretty ordinary brush. Wouldn’t purchase again. Not worth the expense. I would say the bristle strength is medium. I have fine, straight hair and it easily moves through my strands wet or dry. My husband uses it now. He has slightly thicker, wavy hair and says it doesn’t fully detangle his hair. I can imagine it would work well for someone with thick or wavy or curly hair.
