A refreshing detox shampoo that cleans well without feeling harsh

After trying the matching Lakmé Scalp Care pure mask, I was curious to see how the shampoo would perform. Similar to the mask, I don’t think this is the perfect match for my particular hair type, but I still found it to be a very pleasant shampoo and can definitely see who it would work best for. I have fine, dense, waist-length hair that doesn’t get especially oily, so I tend to avoid shampoos that are marketed as detoxifying or deeply cleansing because they can sometimes leave my hair feeling stripped. Thankfully, that wasn’t my experience here. While this shampoo left my scalp feeling very clean and refreshed, it didn’t make my hair feel dry or brittle afterward. One of the standout features is the scent. Like the other Lakmé products I’ve tried, it has a sophisticated herbaceous fragrance that smells more like a salon treatment than a typical shampoo. This particular formula also has a noticeable menthol note, which adds a cooling, refreshing sensation during washing and reinforces that “deep clean” feeling. The formula lathered nicely and rinsed clean without leaving any residue behind. After drying, my hair felt light and fresh, though because my scalp isn’t especially oily, I don’t think I personally need this level of cleansing on a regular basis. Interestingly, my husband ended up liking this shampoo even more than I did. He has a naturally oilier scalp, and this seemed much better suited to his needs. After using it, his hair looked noticeably fluffier, lighter, and had a surprising amount of volume at the roots. His scalp felt clean without feeling tight or over-dried, which can sometimes happen with stronger clarifying shampoos. From an ingredient standpoint, this is definitely formulated as a true cleansing and scalp-refreshing shampoo. The primary cleansers include sodium laureth sulfate, coco-glucoside, cocamidopropyl betaine, and disodium laureth sulfosuccinate, which together create a shampoo that cleans thoroughly while still feeling gentler than some traditional clarifying formulas. The cooling sensation comes from menthol, which is likely responsible for the fresh, invigorating feeling I noticed while washing my hair. The formula also contains conditioning ingredients such as polyquaternium-7 and guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride to help counterbalance the stronger cleansing agents and keep hair from feeling overly stripped. My Type 2B, color treated hair responds well to this shampoo, alternatively used with Lakmé’s K2 Recover Restore. Like the shampoo and love the scent

I have ordered hair products by this brand in the past and have found them to be of good quality. This shampoo may be my favorite, just because of the wonderful scent. I really like yummy smelling shower products and this one is great, has a bit of a sweet tinge to it, like honeysuckle. The shampoo lathers up well & rinses out clean, plus it has a lengthy expiration date. Would be 5 stars but my bottle was dirty, almost as if it had visited another shower first and I also prefer for my hair products to come sealed, wrapped or gripped for leak protection.

Cooling, refreshing shampoo that leaves my scalp feeling clean

Shampoo - 5 stars This shampoo feels tingly, refreshing and cooling on my scalp - as I’ve been using it, I have the sense that it has a peppermint-like feel to it due to the menthol, although the scent is very faint and almost more floral than minty. It leaves my thin and graying hair feeling very clean, and my scalp also feels clean - the days after I’ve been using this shampoo, I’m noticing my scaly scalp is shedding a bit less, although to be fair I am using other products as well. Even so, this shampoo has made a bit of difference with shedding skin and itchiness, so it has been effective that way. It is clear and lightweight, suds up well, and rinses very completely. It does contain Sodium Laureth Sulfate for those who are sensitive, and also jojoba seed oil which tends to be soothing.

Great for scalp care, slightly minty scent.

If you have used Lakme products in the past, it is important to note that this one does smell different from the normal Lakme vibe I have gotten used to. It is more minty and a tiny bit medicinal smelling. It does still smell wonderful, but not quite on the same level as their scalp treatment etc. I used this a couple of times, as has my husband. I have a slightly dry and flaky scalp, but not as much as my husband who has enough than I regularly see flakes on his shirts. He has tried a number of things to help him, and it seems to fluctuate, but he does have to be really careful about shampoo. This is one of his top two favorites right now. It seems to be effective with scalp relief, while at the same time making your hair feel clean and soft. (It also helps mine with tangles, although he doesn't have to worry about that). This is at a higher price point, but next time we will get the larger size for the better value. It is definitely going to stay in our shower.

Gentle Detox

This really surprised me! Most detox shampoos do a great job at cleansing my scalp but they often make my hair feel really dry and stripped. This, though, still gives my scalp a really nice and refreshed feeling but it also leaves my hair feeling soft and smooth. I also really appreciate that this even smells nice! It doesn't have the offputting medicinal scent that some clarifying shampoos have. Overall this was a pleasant surprise--I didn't expect it to be much different than other scalp detox shampoos--so I'm happy to now have this in my haircare routine.

Lakme Teknia scalp care detox shampoo focuses entirely on the scalp. It treats the foundation of your hair to create flake-free strands. This vegan formula utilizes 90% of naturally derived ingredients tailored to address flakes and a dry scalp. I wanted to try it on my son , his scalp is very dry. The shampoo has a light refreshing scent. It lathers nicely and made his scalp feel refreshed and clean. It does require a through rinse after administering the product. So far it appears to be working but we need a couple weeks to ensure. The price is higher however you get a decent size bottle of product and you don't needich product to clean the scalp.

Concentrated, effective at removing buildup

This was more concentrated than I expected so I used too much the first time. Start with less and add more if needed. I like to do a double cleanse as recommended by hair professionals and this is super effective at cleaning up my oily scalp, product buildup, dry skin residue and even the oil treatment I used on my hair before this. My hair feels very soft and clean after. I always coat my hair in a lot of good conditioner (only from mids to ends) as detox and clarifying shampoos can be more drying. I really like this shampoo!

a great scalp detox shampoo!

this detox shampoo is amazing! the scent is honestly hard to describe, it just smells really nice and luxurious. it’s pleasant and not overpowering which i really appreciate as someone who is scent sensitive. it lathers super well and feels smooth going through my hair. i had some dryness on part of my scalp with a lil bit of dry flaky going on and after using this it seems to be completely gone which is a huge win. the menthol in it isn’t overpowering either, it’s a subtle tingle that just feels really good on the scalp without being too intense. if i could, i would happily use this all the time! the only downside is that it’s pretty expensive for the amount of ounces you get, so this isn’t particularly the most budget friendly option out there. if you’ve got the money to spend and quality hair care is important to you, i think it’s totally worth a shot. overall, this is honestly one of the best shampoos i’ve tried in awhile and my scalp feels fresh. 5/5, i recommend!

Cooling sensation and great lather

Dandruff shampoos usually aren't pleasant to use, they usually smell terrible, have a weird texture, and can wreak havoc on colored hair. This anti-dandruff shampoo from Lakmé is different than anything else I've tried. It is extremely refreshing to use. It smells great, like citrus with a hint of menthol, and it lathers beautifully. The instructions say to leave it on your scalp for a few minutes, so I leave it on while I wash the rest of my body. After a minute, my scalp starts to feel wonderfully cool, which is especially welcome after a sweaty summer day! The ends of my hair are bleached and colored with a bright semi-permanent dye, and it hasn't made my hair color fade any faster than normal.

This shampoo is a clear gel consistency that has a citrus fragrance that generates a large amount of lather. It was quite surprising how much lather this produced with such a small amount.
