Amazing Product!
I have a balding spot on the top back (crown) of my head. It's about two inches in diameter. I have been using Rogaine on it, and while that hasn't resulted in the balding spot going away, it has kept it from getting any worse. Still, I wanted to see if there was anything else I could do about it. I was on a web forum about balding (and what to do about it) and I read several posts about Nanogen. There are other similar products made by other companies, but the overall consensus was that Nanogen was the best of them. There are even videos online that show it being applied. It seemed too good to be true, but for ~$25 bucks, I decided to give it a shot. Now, if you have a bald spot that is completely bald (bare skin, not even thin whispy hairs), you probably won't see much improvement, but if you are like me, this product is amazing. One minute, you have a balding spot, the next it's gone! The Nanogen fibers stick to those little fuzzy hairs and make it look like full, natural hair. Even on a windy day, they stay in place. If you are going to be exercising (and perspiring), swimming, or going out in really high winds, they recommend using some hair mist after applying the Nanogen to give it some extra hold. They sell their own "fixing" mist, but I have found that just about any brand will work (just be careful to spray whatever product you are using on top of the Nanogen once it is on your head, then let it dry before touching or combing it). You may have to experiment with which shade of Nanogen most closely matches your natural hair color, but other than that, it's great stuff!

Nanogen, Great product!
Well I bought a bottle of this stuff about a month ago. I had heard of Topik and hair cubed but wasn't sure what to expect. Since Nano was cheaper and had good reviews saying it was as good as the other products, I had to try it out. I was very happy with the product!! I have been thinning and have a small bald spot in the back/top part of my head. This product made it all go away. It makes me look 5 years younger and the best part is how it stays put. I was worried of moister because I work out and on a hot day I tend to Perspire, I didn't want to be somewhere with black stuff leaking from my head. But I was VERY surprised at how it holds up to water, even in the Gym with a full sweat going, it stays put. I was also worried about how REAL it was going to look, even in full sun, No one could tell I had any product on!! it blends so well. Only problem is, in the front of the hairline- got to be careful on blending it in little by little or I can tell it doesn't look right. But with practice I got it down now. SORRY cant compare this product since it has been the only one I have tried, but Definitely happy with the results. I also used COUVRE and it works well with this product I use COUVRE to cover the scalp and Nanogen to give my hair Body. I could use just the Nanogen with the same result but it seems like I have to use a bunch of it, so the COUVRE is a good Combo. Oh and yes it you scratch your head the Nanogen gets under your nails, not a big deal but if you remember not to scratch its probably better than looking like you have dirty nails.

I have finally found self-confidence and am not self-conscious about my hair all the time
I am in love with Nanogen! I had reconciled with having to wear wigs to even be able to step out of the house. I am a woman close to 40, who is now seeing a huge line of scalp where I part my hair all the way from the front and part way down the back. So my hair has thinned effusively all over, but that line, and an especially thinning area near my hairline next to my forehead has me self-conscious from the moment I'm out of bed to the moment I sleep. It is embarrassing and it definitely takes a huge toll on self-confidence. I tried a wig but it never felt natural. In a desperate measure to seek solutions before a family re-union, I came across videos of Nanogen. Here's what I love about it: 1. No one can tell - And I mean no one. My kids and husband came home when I first received and applied Nanogen. I did not say anything for a few minutes, and they kept staring at me. They knew something was different but couldn't place their finger on it. Just said that I looked great, younger somehow (Yeah!). I told them and then immediately took them out where I was in the sun for them to look carefully to see if they could tell. I can tell you that I've done this test multiple times. I will stop on my way into the mall or somewhere else when the sun is shining on me, and just ask them to look everywhere and see if they can tell that it's not my hair. And they can't. My family or friends have not been able to either. I FINALLY look forward to taking pictures again. 2. So Easy - It took me about three tries to perfect the density and look I wanted with Nanogen. Just how much and where. It helps to have access to a well lit place where you can see what you're doing. I have a combination of mirrors I use to verify that the back of my head now looks okay. But you will learn to pretty much place a finger in your bald spat and with the other hand, guide the Nanogen bottle to the finger and pat to get results exactly where you need them. The texture is just like hair too so I like it. 3. It stays on - I don't wash my hair everyday. Once I have applied this and lightly sprayed on my hairspray on it, it stays for days. I have also used it without hairspray. I find that some of it falls off while I sleep but I still see some results the next day with it. Wind, rain etc do not make a difference. And for those of you who don't have hair, you know how big a deal it is to go out in the wind and rain when you're afraid that your barely there hair will get messed up and your bald spots will start showing. 4. Better than the competition - I could not bring myself to try on Toppik due to the chemical and color issues with it. I did order Caboki at the same time as I ordered this. I like Caboki too. But Caboki is more like powder that settles on my scalp so sometimes can look like i painted it. Nanogen is a fiber that sits on top of my bald spots attached to the minimal hair that are there to make it look like I have hair on top of my scalp, not color on my scalp. It is also less messier than Caboki to apply in my opinion. 5. Color works for me - I have hair that is uniformly one single color. So the color is a great match for me. I am not sure how it might work if you have a lot of highlights. 6. Does not stain - I don't have a single stain on my pillows, clothes or anywhere else from keeping this in my hair and sleeping with it. Cons - 1. Sometimes Itchy - I can go for 2-3 days without washing my hair. So sometimes it'll get itchy but it could just be my oily scalp.

Wonderful product!
I would recommend this to anyone who has thinning hair. My hair has been thinning for the last 2 years due to lupus and the medications I'm on to treat it. Especially being female, I have been very self-conscious about my loss of hair, scalp showing, etc. This product has helped that tremendously. It is easy to use, just sprinkle on the areas that you want to cover. It looks very natural. No one has been able to tell that I have anything on my hair. I do not go out without this on because of how much scalp shows now due to the hair loss. I would not recommend the spray that they advertise with it because it has a pretty funky smell to it. I just set it with hair spray. Try it, you'll be very surprised how well it actually works.

This stuff is awesome
Well unfortunately for me, at 37 years old I've been losing hair on my crown visibly for about 5 years now. I use Rogaine foam and take saw palmetto to try and combat the ever advancing ravages of time and DHT on my hair follicles, but my top is still thin. After hearing Dr. Sam Lam mention it in one of his talks posted on YouTube (check out his YouTube blog vids, they are great!), I decided to look into Nanogen. From their website it's obviously a British company, which is fine. They helped us in WWII, so what the hell. Anywhoo, great product. You sprinkle the keratin fibers out of what looks like a pepper shaker, blend it into your thinning locks with your fingertips, and it's like all of a sudden your thinning areas are thick again. I sprinkle on Nanogen after foaming up with Rogaine and letting it dry. The drier your hair is, the better the fibers bind to your existing hair. Then I put on some d:fi styling creme and I'm good to go. I think I'll be using this product for a long time, or as long as enough hair on my head holds out so it looks passable. By then I'm hoping science can inject stem cells into George Costanza's scalp and regrow hair without needing plugs. There ya go.

This is better than Toppik
I am a man in his early twenties, and have noticed thinning hair since I turned 18. I later found out this is because I have Hypothyroid. Anyways, I heard about concealers 6 months, used toppik at first. Toppik is really good, but where nanogen stand outs (of course higher price) is that it makes your hair softer, and does not have that saw dust feel to it. The fibers do not come out with water, or gel, however if you get your scalp wet (extermly like in shower, not rain drizzle) you will see that fibers settle down, and if you do not have enough fuzz, then it will show. Ofcourse, it gets on your finger and nails if you run your hand thru it, so beware if anyone not knowing about it touches your hair, they might figure it out. I have been using it for 6 months, and my roomates have still to find out about it, so I guess you get the idea.

Hair Loss Concealer Fibers by Nanogen Black
Actually i'm disappointed that this Hair fibers did not work for me. I was having high expecations after i saw the reviews and ordered it. But when i applied it, it did not stand even for a day on my head. Forget about the bald area, even where i have thin hair, it was not sticking beyond a few minutes. I comb my hair after 30 minutes of applying the fibers, all those fibers were in my comb!! Product packing had a catalog which says i need to buy some hair spray for these fibers to stay longer......but no videos had that as a first step before pouring the hair fibers on our head. It will stay even when we go in the rain, take a shower, sweat out etc are all false statements!! I thought i had a solution for my thining hair...but looks like hair transplantation is the only permanament solution for thining hair and baldness.

I like this product
My hair had been thinning and I needed something to fill in the thin spots. I had no real hope that this would work but, having read the reviews, I decided to give it a try. I didn't use it very long as my thinning worsened but while I used it I really, really liked it. It covered the thin areas very well, looked quite natural (as far as I could tell), the color blended very nicely, and it didn't rub or fall off. I plan to try this on my sparse brows next; I think it is the same type of product I have seen described as a "brow filler" and costing so much more. This product was a blessing to me. Thanks!

Tried Them All, and Nanogen is the Best.
After trying many brands of Hair Fibers, finally found "The One"! This stuff works great, and the elelctro-charged dispenser is no gimmick, it works to help the fibers stick to your existing hair. Works Great
I havent tried any other of the products like this so I cant compare. As far as this one, I really love it and use it every day. I have dark brown hair so I am not sure what the product would be like for someone with lighter hair but for darker it works great. I use the pointy end of my comb to make parts in my hair from front to back. Sprinkle on the fibers all along the part and if you have a part where it clumped or have just one dark spot on your scalp you can just use your fingers to lightly tap the fibers along your part. I spray the part with a regular pump hair spray and let it dry for a second. Then I make another part next to that and repeat it over the top of my scalp. I usually turn my head over and fluff my hair a bit as to not have a definite part. If I see places where it is bare I just repeat it. If I know I am going out that evening I may put a bit more on and sometimes I am lazy and just put it on my part that is showing. When I do the entire top of my scalp it really looks fuller. I have ordered twice now and I received the product both times the next day. Fastest shipping ever. My only complaint is that I do use it every day and for the price it is a bit much. I may try another brand to compare but right now I really love this stuff. Def recommend.

Watch out! Hair texture might matter
This product might be good for non-Blacks. if your hair is non-permed and natural, you might want to skip this little "miracle". I was skeptical but I thought with so many positive reviews I could give it a try. Again, maybe most reviewers are non-Blacks or Blacks with hair that's NOT naturally nappy therefore this product worked well for them. This product looks like some kind a powder that should blend with your own hair while covering the hairless spots. But I think the hair texture matters. When I used this product, my hair was not chemically altered and it did nothing to cover the thinning on my temple. I went back to using the good 'ol black pencil who handles the job pretty well as long as you don't sweat or wet the area where the pencil has been used ;).Thankfully, I discovered a product called "Jamaican castor oil" that I've been using semi-faithfully and my hair is growing back fast ! right now, I'm not even using the pencil anymore and I hope in few more months, my temples will be completely full of hair. Love it more than Toppik.
Love this product way more than Toppik. Using Toppik I experienced an itchy scalp that literally drove me almost to insanity. Later on I learned that this product contains wool. I just pour this into my Toppik container and the sprayer works the same as it did with the Toppik. Would recommend going one shade lighter than your color and using the sprayer. I also use a mask since those fibers end up everywhere and I don't want to inhale them. Just get use to the fact that you will have little fibers all over your counter and plan on cleaning the bathroom a little more often. Will be purchasing again.

Well..........5 years ago I paid the big bucks for a hair transplant on my receding hairline.....and viola.......it's back. Thanks for not very much of a "guarantee" Bosley. So...like any relatively vain individual....I was looking for a way to cover what was gradually missing in the way of a distinctive hairline. It's amazing what a little bit of loss in a hairline can do to you in a photo....frozen in time....and placed on Facebook.Ugh! So.....browsing the internet for a solution....I came across the Nanogen Nanofibres. I was of course skeptic about shaking something over my head like a salt shaker that would actually stay in place....but had nothing to lose based on the cost. I ordered a bottle...gave it a shot...and hey....it works!! Yes...it's temporary with an every day application....but it's no different than covering a zit with Clearasil. An imperfection.....an a quick fix....because it's all about perception.....and these fibres attach to hair pretty well, and stay there until you shower them out. I now just shake some coverage over the exposed scalp that mimics a natural look.....and I am good to go.

Let's face it, no one wants to need this. It would be nice to have a full head of hair. I cringe every time my new, very tall boyfriend kisses the top of my head. I live in anticipation of rain and try to never get caught without umbrella or hat, and don't even get me started on swimming...With that said, this is working well. I have caboki, which works fine, too. But I think nanogen has a slight edge for me. It sits more on the hair than the scalp, which looks less powdery and more natural on me. The color is a good match. I hate hairspray, so I have used both nanogen and caboki without spray. Some of it comes off on the inside of my sunhat or bike helmet and I sometimes reapply during the day. I usually clean little particles off my forehead when I get to work. They are not super visible, but something is always there. This seems to not transfer too much to bedsheets, and is pretty easy to wash the sink down after using. But it's lot of work that I did not have to do before hair loss. I am working on being more accepting of my body. Update: The color match did not look quite right in broad daylight - caboki was a dark chocolate brown (a better match for me), and this looks more blackish. I also found some transfer on the pillowcases. But the way it sits on the hair and the way it fades in a natural, not splotchy way are both good.

It really works!!

Good product worth looking into
Comparing this to Toppik, I like this much better. Toppik seems to have a greenish tint and is almost jet black color which doesn't match my natural black hair color. People say Nanogen black color looks gray but I haven't noticed that when applied to my hair. Nanogen goes on and stays on my hair better than Toppik and looks more natural looking. Use a pump hair spray medium to strong hold to keep fibers in hair. The only negative it's kinda pricey.

Best product of its sort, but not for everyone.
Far finer than similar products, good amount of static cling (what separates the brand name stuff from he generic). The fine nature of Nanogen is what makes is higher quality, less noticeable that your wearing it, but once your hair is thin enough, most of it will miss your hair entirely and just cover your scalp with fine black dust.

It's okay - Toppik and Hairmax are better
I've been using concealer products for around 10 years now, I always have used Toppik in the past and have recently been looking for alternatives. I heard good things about Nanogen so I decided to give it a try. I ordered black (as my hair is black) but it seems more of a dark brown, significantly lighter than my hair. Also, when I would lay down then sit up again, there would be a big dark brown pile of fibers where I just laid. When I apply I always make sure to shake out any excess, so I'm not sure why there was so much transfer. I marked this as an 'it's OK' because it is just that, OK. I do prefer Toppik and Hairmax over Nanogen. I am a woman with shoulder length hair.

wow! I am so amazed by this product. Easy to Use, Better than powder
Very pleased with this product. Takes way less time than the powder I had been using which requires a wet applicator and thus wets the hair. Nanofibres go on dry hair. Just tap a little on. Some powder does fall on my forehead if I am putting this on the front hairline but it easily wipes away with a dry tissue. It doesn't mix in with my make-up. Makes my hair look so much thicker. I have used it without hairspray (to set it) and all was fine but I didn't perspire heavily so the staying power was not tested. Love this and thanks to the other reviewers for their helpful info.

Nanogen has worked very well for me. My only complaint is the smell of the locking mist. I can't use it because it smells like men's cologne, I am a woman. Any way to make an unscented locking mist? I would definitely buy it.

Good but doesn't last long
Says it lasts 45-60 days; not even close. More like 4 weeks for me, used about 4 times a week, and I have approximately 85% of my hair. How would they know how much thinning someone has had? It could also be less expensive than $25 for a little container. Maybe the price will come down a bit sometime. Also, I think it used to tell what color it is, but now there is no indication of this on the container, only in the order form. That being said, it does seem to be a superior product compared to others. Mine looks like [...] only more lost in back and on top. Or like this with more lost in back. [...]

Worst hair thickening product I have ever used
I have been using Keratinng fiber products for the last 17 years. I have tried 4 brands. Nanogen is by far the worst product I have ever used, I will NEVER use it again. I am being polite and NOT naming the other 3 brands I have used, two of which are EXCELLENT

color is not as labeled.
this is the second time i have received a container labeled "dark brown", but the product in the container is sort of blue/steel gray. i have ordered this product for years and never had a problem before these last 2 times. since i order extra containers to have on hand, by the time i used this it was past the return date, so i wasted almost $35!! i won't ever order this product again. after reading other reviews i see that color inconsistency is a problem with this product...ranging from green to yellow to orange.

Really good at covering up my bald patch, but don't expect it to create a new hairline for you. You need to already have a certain amount of hair for the fibers to cling onto (you can't just put it on a completely bald scalp and expect it to work) Once you have it on you need to be careful to stay out of the rain or wearing a hat as this will make it fall out, the additional spray helps to hold it but the most you'll get out of it is one day before you need to redo it.
