Wash and condition hair, then pour about a quarter size amount in your hand and rub through hair then comb through, dry and style. Be careful pouring; it is a thin clear liquid not cream. The bottle lasts a long time. Doesn’t leave hair stiff or tacky. Hair is soft, shiny and can styles easily with a blow dryer and brush, curing iron or flat iron. Nice product. I’ve used this for about a year and glad it was recommended to me.

Paul Mitchell Hair Sculpting Lotion
One of the original PM products that can no longer be found in salons. Thank goodness I can still get it online. Great stuff. I have thick hair and it does a great job controlling it. Nice shine to the hair. Darkens gray hair. I put it on after I get out of the shower when the hair is a little damp. Blow it dry in less than a minute. During the day I reactivate it with a little water. Works great as long as it’s not too humid outside.

If You Have Hair, You Need This!
My stylist used this on my hair years ago. I was so glad to see Paul Mitchell hasn't changed a thing about the formula. This product truly adds texture to thin or thick hair like mine and is so much easier to style just the way you like it. It does add volume, which I don't need, but I flat iron my hair anyway. It gives it the texture that makes an okay style go to a fabulous style, and I have long hair with very little layers. I can imagine it would be even better on shorter hair with layers, typically needing a product like this. It's lightweight, not a bit sticky - just perfect. My hair always turns out better when I use this wet before the blow dry. The 8.5 oz bottle will last you for at least a year. My old bottle lasted longer simply because I lost my hair to chemo for several months. Great product I highly recommend for women and men. I hope this stays on the market as the exact formula. Seems like so many shampoos, conditioners and styling products that are awesome change the formula and mess up a really great product.

Love this stuff!
I freaking love this stuff! I have coarse hair and have always had a hard time getting my styles to stay even when I use blowout balm & tons of products. This solves all my hair problems! I put it on my damp hair and then I can either put in curling mousse and my curls will stay for days, or use blowout balm, and my hair stays styled till the next wash.

It brings out my natural curls and body
I have lots of hair, lots of body in my hair, and natural waves. After I wash my hair and towel-dry it, I comb it out. Then, I rub this sculpting lotion all over it and let it dry naturally. It gives me bouncy hair and turns my waves into some big, soft curls. It's a very natural, beachy look for me. I can't guarantee these results would happen for you. My hair is my hair. Anyone with my unique hair attributes though, go for it!

Amazing for curls
This has been one of VERY few products to actually help get my curls styled as close to bouncy ringlets as possible. I have hair like.... the singer Mya. black & white hair that if simply left to air dry will frizz and straggle and fall flat (because i have straightened it for so long.) So anyway, this is a liquidy product that seems to have just the right amount of hold in it. I recommend this to anyone who wants to get that pronounced curl in their hair and if lightweight creamy pomades don't get you there. (aveda be curly, redken curl potion, brandon martinez curl up etc.) all of those smelled great but didn't actually do anything to aid or control the texture of my hair. but of course old school gel and such will just give you that crunchy junior high look. SO this is a great product, i would mix it with your other creams or favorite products to get the right combo.

Lotion? I think not. Try pure water with scent.
False labeling??? Oh, absolutely. I bought this product to replace my Chi product. This is the wateriest poor excuse of a product that I was not expecting. It is labeled as a Hair Sculpting Lotion. When I hear “lotion” i am expecting a smooth, creamy texture. Like a LOTION. What this is is a clear, watery mess. It pours out with the consistency and texture of literal water. It doesn't even have a gel-like consistency, just straight liquidy liquid. Buyer beware. Seriously, buyer beware. Am I going to try to use it? Of course, i paid for it. I hope this watery water stuff works on my hair. But I am not going to hold my breath… For something called a lotion, why does the bottle itself call it the ‘original liquid styling product’? Had the advertised photos been actual photos of the product received, i would have maybe been prepared for the expensive bottle of water I was going to purchase.

When my package arrived, half of the bottle leaked out. The plastic covering the bottle didn’t prevent the liquid from spilling out. There was no foil seal on this bottle under the cap. Disappointed.

Diluted and Bad smell
I wouldn't reccomend buying this item from Amazon. I recieved the one I ordered and found it diluted and has a bad smell. I have used this item previously and it was gel-like and had a much better smell. I cannot return it as I put it on my shelf until I ran out of the one I was using. It was on my shelf for 1 month and 4 days, exceeding my return policy date.
