amazingly hydrating watery essence

I thought this category - first essence- was kind of irrelevant now even in the K-beauty industry, but interestingly this product appeared on my suggestion list. And milk thistle? I was very interested to try out because this is not a typical K-beauty favorite ingredient. And I fell in love this, and let me tell you why. Ingredients: When I look at the beauty product, I always try to find a justification of its price. This is the reason why I never give good review with luxury brands because their prices just don't make sense at all to me. This one is practically based on milk thistle seed extract, so 81% of its ingredient is extract NOT water. It followed by conventional solvents and brightening niacinamide, and milk thistle extract (not seed.) It also contains anti-aging adenosine, and 3 different kind of molecular sized hyaluronic acid. It's amazingly well formulated product. It used 1,2 hexanediol as preservative so overall, it's 100% clean and safe, if you are not allergic to any of the extracts. Texture: It's just amazing. I don't know how they make this formula but it's completely water, no viscosity or whatsoever but when it is absorbed to the skin, your skin is very hydrated and glow. I follow religious Korean beauty 6 step skincare routine, and I can definitely see the difference with/without this product. Effectiveness: I used about a week, and I feel like my skin is a lot more radiant and seems like dark spots are slightly less visible. I am not sure it's psychological or not, but this product is extremely useful after a night out. It gives instant glow and radiance on next day after wild night out. It's good emergency remedy if you are a party person. Buy this, you won't regret this!!

Great Value

Toner, First Essence? I vote first essence for the moisturizing abilities. I only use a toner if I am having skin issues. This product has both moisturizing and brightening powers. I have been using it in my daily routine for 3 weeks now and I can see some age spots getting lighter. I am hoping that it will eventually help with the dark skin under my eyes. My skin feels refreshed after use and my moisturizer goes on nicely on top of this essence. Everyone is correct, there are no instructions on the box or bottle in English. One can simply google, how to apply a first essence, if they don’t already know. Do I think it would be nice to have directions on a product you purchase? Yes. Do I think it takes away from the product if it doesn’t? No, this product is good and you can find out how to use it. If you require English instructions, you would miss out on a lot of really good K-beauty products. This is a large bottle and a little goes a long way. With its list of ingredients, this has value equivalent to its cost. I like this product so much; I am going to try others from this line. I guess it goes without saying, I would highly recommend giving this a try.

packaging leaves me guessing.......

Had to stop at 3 stars, because........Was excitedly waiting to receive product. However, upon receipt: packaging has no instructions for use. Plain packaging, with ingredient list in several languages, but have to search website for instructions Is it a lotion, a scrub, mask, or need to be rinsed off? Is it for face, or all body? It is called FIRST ESSENCE SPA......I am assuming it is a moisturizing cream, on line mentions ACNE, but very evasive packaging has left me confused. Needs more info & instructions included in package.

Great on skin

The lotion takes no time to be absorbed and is very nourishing. I like using them before the oil to seal in all the moisture before I go to bed. For the morning routine, it gives me enough moisture just by itself. This lotion can be sticky for people with oily skin, so I suggest using a smaller amount. For dry skin like mine, this lotion does an excellent job of moisturizing and nourishing the skin.

Tightens pores

This toner has helped to regulate my skin after cleansing. I’ve noticed better texture to my skin, as well as tightened pores, which I particularly struggle with around my nose. This toner leaves my skin feeling cool and fresh, and has a light, welcomed scent to it.

What... is it?

The limited instructions or description of this product make it difficult to discern how it might be best put to use. Is it an essence? A toner? Should I leave it on? Wash it off? I just don't know. What it is is light and hydrating. It absorbs relatively well into the skin and best of all it hasn't broken me out. Yay! I need some extra time with it to determine if it is the right fit for my skin routine. I do like it, but at this point I am not sure how to best use it.

gentle, fast absorption, hydrating

It's a large bottle of water like essence. Most of the fine prints on the box were Korean, there's no English instruction on the box nor on the bottle. Not sure whether it should be used as serum or toner. Based on the consistency of the watery essence, I use it as a toner and apply it right after cleaning my skin. It is gentle on skin and gets absorbed fast. It's calming and soothing, leaving skin hydrated. It's water like but a bit thicker. When pour it out of the bottle, it's not as runny as pure water, and it won't spill all over to cause a mess. That's what I like this essence the most.

It works but doesn't come with instructions

Toner has been a staple in my skincare regimen for a long time now but the toner I had used previously just wasn't doing much for my skin... so I went on a search for a new one & found this. The packaging for this product even though it is nice it'll leave you guessing on how to properly use the toner because all the writing is in Korean. But I used it like my previous toner was supposed to be used by putting a small amount on a cotton ball and rubbing it on my cleansed face avoiding sensitive areas/eyes and it left my skin feeling very clean. It doesn't have a scent either making it pleasant to use. This is a good toner and you get almost 7oz so it should last a little while

Skin Tonner good for daily use

As a Tonner , it is very liquid and easy to use in your skin. It feels fresh and leaves my skin fresh and somehow moisture . It is not clear when to use , I juat followed other Tonner instructions and used after cleaning skin and before face cream. After some uses skin feels cleaner.

Great ingredients

I had never heard of this brand before but when I checked the ingredients, I was super happy. My dry sensitive skin loves adenosine. This also has a higher percentage of niacinamide, like most toner/essence now, so if you are sensitive to it I would avoid this. Otherwise, no acids or potential irritants that I’ve noticed so far. No color or scent and the large bottle came sealed with foil. This stuff is awesome.

Seems like a quality product.

As the product description states, this is a watery essence to be used on dull and uneven skin tone. It goes on easily to the face and provides a nice refreshed hydrated feeling when applied. This K beauty skin care product contains milk thistle as the main active ingredient in the product. There is a website noted on the packaging which provides an active address with information contained about the product line, but does have some content that is only in Korean.

Brightening my uneven skin tone.

Expiration date is available in both outer box and inside product bottle. It is "First Essence" which I apply right after using toner. The texture is light and give good amount of moist and sooth to my skin before I apply the facial cream. This gel liquid type absorbs to my face well. No runny water feeling. Also, it is not greasy since it is oil free product. Natural herb scent... no artificial smell.

Pleasantly surprised, this is really good!

I'm not usually an essence person but I saw this and was intrigued! It's REALLY GOOD! It has all these wonderful plant extracts and moisturizing ingredients. I patted this on my face after my shower then layered my regular night moisturizer and occlusive on top. My skin has been glowing, it looks clearer, and my makeup looks better! I also have to say that it's a nice little pampering step, I enjoy applying it.

Amazing combination of quality ingredients

The RAWQUEST Milk Thistle Brightening SPA First Essence 6.8 oz I for Dry skin, Dull & Uneven Skin it's a great toner with all its combination of quality ingredients. I attached a photo of the ingredients. I love the presentation that it comes in a quality glass bottle. You only need a small amount and this bottle will last you a long time. It left my skin feeling very clean and hydrated. I did not have any irritation. It feels like a product that's for sensitive skin and there was no noticeable scent. I've tried several different toners and this is one of my favorites so far.

Hydrating essence

The RAWQUEST Milk Thistle Brightening SPA First Essence is a clear watery thin gel-like liquid. It has just a little scent that is quite pleasant. This lightweight essence is easy to apply, however, it does leave a little tackiness that takes a little time to settle; after which, the skin feels hydrated, smooth, and soft to the touch. RAWQUEST Milk Thistle Brightening SPA First Essence (6.8 oz) The 200 ml / 6.76 fl oz (it’s a good size) frosted bottle of milk thistle essence arrived in a branded box. Most of the information on the box is in Korean, but the ingredients are listed in English. There aren’t any directions in English. A safety seal was under the lid. I have acne-prone, combination skin. I ordered this because it's my understanding that milk thistle is a powerful antioxidant, is helpful with oily skin, and my skin likes brightening products. This essence also contains niacinamide which my skin also appreciates. I’m using this almost water-like “first essence” after cleansing my face and neck. Even though there are quite a few botanicals it has no scent to my nose. I’m applying it with clean hands as directed in the Amazon listing (I started with a cotton square but felt like more essence was on the cotton than on my face), and it only takes a minute because it applies easily and is absorbed in about a minute. No tackiness. Once absorbed I apply an antioxidant serum and a light mineral SPF moisturizer in the morning, and a retinol at night. I’ve been applying this gentle essence twice a day for more than two weeks and haven’t experienced any irritation or spots. Bottom line: Applying an essence is an extra step that not everyone will be willing to do, but because this one is absorbed so quickly it only adds a minute. Did I notice a big difference in my skin? Not yet, but it is very hydrating and I didn’t have any issues, either. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any information on whether this brand or product is cruelty free. The bottom of the bottle (and box) I received in November 2023 was marked EXP 20260720. The box also has an icon stating the essence would be good for 12 months after opening. Made in Korea.

An essence that actually works

I've tried quite a few essences, and have felt like most just don't do anything. (My holy grail is SK-II, but it's just too expensive). I was pleasantly surprised by this essence though. It absorbs nicely, without leaving any residue on my skin and does make my skin look glowier. I wouldn't say it's hydrating--if I apply this and forget moisturizer, my skin does start to feel itchy--but it's a nice addition to my skincare routine.

gentle, absorbs well

This product is a little thicker than water, is gentle, and absorbs well. It is meant to be used after cleansing the face and left on to be absorbed by the skin. It is unscented and has minimal odor to it. The bottle is made so you can dispense one drop of a time, assuring you will not use too much or waste any. Thus, the 6.76 oz bottle will last a very long time and fortunately, the expiration date is 2+ years away. I did not know how to use this product initially there is little instruction in English. I asked my Korean co-worker to enlighten me. He said that after washing face, spread product on face with hands or cotton applicator. It helps improve wrinkles and is for whitening. Store out of direct sunlight. He said that the instructions for Milk Thistle Brigthening Spa First Essence and the Echinacea Calming Moisture Toner from the same company are pretty much the same.

i like using this after i wash my face each night, underneath my regular night moisturizer. As others have said, any instructions provided are written in Korean with no English translation. This is a thinner treatment, somewhere between a toner and a serum. I apply after washing my face, but before applying my usual serum and moisturizer. The fragrance is mild but pleasant, and my skin looks and feels dewy after applying. So far no negative reaction with my sensitive skin, which is always a bonus

mild hydrator

This is an essence, and seems to fall somewhere between a toner and a serum in terms of texture: a bit heavier than a tony but not as heavy as even the most watery serums. It claims to be non-sticky, and when I first began using it it seemed quite sticky, leaving my skin tacky and forcing me to wait before applying anything else. The bottle (a very nice bottle, for the record) dispenses the essence a drop at a time, though (you have to shake it, not squeeze it), so I concluded maybe you only need a drop or two. That seemed to work better, and the smaller amount absorbs quickly. However, maybe that's not enough to be effective, because I'm not seeing much difference to my skin after almost a month. It does provide some mild hydration, but other products I use are more useful in this regard, and I don't see any change in terms of skin clarity or texture or glow. It has a very mild and really quite pleasant scent that doesn't last long, so it's very nice to use. I do wish the packaging had included some information in English, so I would have a better idea of what to look for, etc., without having to seek out web pages.

Initial light faint floral scent when applying but quickly goes away.

As she relayed to me: I notice when I bring my hands to my face after dispensing a little and putting it on my finger tips a light floral scent which is really pleasant. It quickly goes away as I'm spreading it across my skin. The consistancy I like a lot it's not like water pouring it into my hand. Actually it's slightly thicker and I need to shake the bottle to get it to come out which is better than the alternative of too much and it running out from my hand. I like how it soaks into my skin after washing my face BUT it does retain a slight sticky or tackiness for maybe a little longer than I'd hoped. It does go away after it dries or absorbs completely just wish it was a little faster drying time if I'm going to the next steps in my skincare routine. My skin feels pleasingly soft to the touch and looks brighter and I've been using it for 2 weeks now. I'm happy with the product so far and how little I actually need to use making it a better value overall.

Good toner with a terrible name

With the lack of instruction (in English) and the unfortunate name “Rawquest,” I don’t think this product will do well in American markets. That’s too bad because the product is good, if a bit on the pricey side. It has good ingredients and I like the way it feels on my skin. It has a slight cooling effect that I find appealing. It also has something called Hydracell-QS which is supposed to be small enough to penetrate deeper into the skin. Too soon to tell if it will benefit my skin but it hasn’t irritated it so I have high hopes.

Oil for dry skin.

I was not sure what this was when it was delivered! Nice looking package, but not any instruction as to what it is and how to use it in English! Got back to my orders and looked on Amazon then kind of figure this out. It a good oil for dry skin which we have this time of year. Im liking this oil. But 3 stars for the confusion to what this is!
