I love starpil wax . It’s expensive you don’t get a lot (cons) but it’s High quality fast setting wax! I’ve been performing Brazilian waxes for 12 years ! With all the waxes I’ve used this brand sets the fastest. Gives less irritation, and causes less discomfort. I’m purchasing a bulk next week 😊. (All Pro’s)
I’m a professional Waxer for the last 10 years and I’ve heard of this company for a very long time in the industry. I’ve never tried it to due to working for the largest and best waxing company in the nation but after no longer being there I became desperate to find wax I can use at home myself. So I gave it a try. This wax is horrible!! For one it’s sticky and tacky. Then talk about the consistency. The wax lays on thin. Therefore leaving strips to break and crack before you can pull off because it’s too thin. Because it breaks it leaves you to have to peel off dry wax off your skin (that’s painful) and then go over numerous times to get the hair off. What should’ve taken me 10 minutes to wax my legs took 40! Very disappointing!
I got this wax over a year ago & it was absolutely horrible, so bad that I just went back to getting my waxes professionally done. Fast forward I don’t have time to get it done, so I figured I’d just do it myself like old times and then I was reminded how bad this wax is and for so long I thought it was me till I see the comments say it as well. It cracks like no tomorrow and it doesn’t grip the hair. Literally the worst wax, idk if they send Amazon the bad batches but it’s really bad and it wasn’t like that when I purchased frm the website directly.
Please don't do what I did and gave it the benefit of the doubt. I ordered before I could read what the very few bad reviews this item had. First off, it melts really quick. I suppose it can be a good thing for experts, BUT BAD FOR NEW BEGINNNERS! It's almost as if, once you over melt it and it hardens again... the properties of the wax becomes compromised. FROM there on, it gets WORSE. SO. MUCH. WORSE. The wax must be spread SUPER THINLY! Otherwise it rips apart and crumbles as it gets attached to the hair. For the cherry on top, I attempted a Brazilian wax with this. Terrible mistake. This wax is advertised for thick to thin hair. WHAT A BIG FAT LIE. As my hair was on the thicker side, it didn't not rip the strip in one complete go. I had to constantly wince in pain as my sister had to come help me. IMAGINE. RIPPING. WAX. PIECE. BY. PIECE. The aftermath gave me intense ingrown hairs and alot of hair follicle breakage since the wax itself did not grab it fully. To this day, I'm still searching answers on what to do for my huge ingrown cysts down there. There is no wound opening.. so even if I prick it with a needle. It will just give me unnecessary scars. But yes, DON'T BUY IT UNLESS YOU WANT HELLA INGROWN HAIRS.
Maybe I got a bad batch but this was the worst wax I’ve ever seen. The wax beads would not melt at all. And when they finally did the wax was this slimy consistency. I am a licensed esthetician and I use the pink one in the 2lb bag. Absolutely love it ! I wanted to try this and was very disappointed. Amazon must be getting the bad batches of this black wax.
This wax works great!! Y’all I’ve been learning to wax myself at home and this wax brand is perfect to use. Easy to spread for beginner waxers. I would 100% recommend this wax brand.
I’ve used this for legs and under arms and works great. I love that I don’t have to worry about waxing the same area twice like with soft wax. However it does dry very fast and is runny so doing the backs of my thighs was nearly impossible, same runny issue with my eyebrows. For the first time in my year of waxing I took a little too much off me eyebrows using this wax. The thickness of a basic Gigi was a little easier for me to control even though it didn’t pull off as well as this does.
If you are a casual retail customer(non professional), then you should invest in high quality wax beads. Starpil, Mermaid wax and Cirepil are all high quality. This melts and dries pretty fast so it’s less time consuming.
This wax is great and grabs hold of the hairs but it isnt flexible when dried so its hard to remove. For best results mix this with Cerepil hard wax and you'll have the perfect mix.
What I do like it’s great on sensitive skin but, it doesn’t latch onto the hairs all the time. So I have to repeat putting it on up to four times and I will still use the tweezers to pull out what’s left like one or two. It’s good on skin, though it does not agitated.
I purchased the blue, pink, and the star soft. I purchased the blue and star soft to mix together. I still have some blue cirepil left that I have to use before I try the blue starpil. I figure they work the same so I've been mixing the star soft with my Cirepil to make it more manageable which is working amazingly! But the pink starpil, no! It dries toooooo fast! It breaks when you go to take it off and never comes off in one piece. I purchased the star soft, because my Cirepil would do the same thing if I left it for too long before I pulled it off. The pink wax, does it EVERY time, even if I only lefts it for a few seconds. I feel like the pink wax is more for professional use. Maybe it may work better for others, but it's a "no" for me.
Okay. I try not to leave bad reviews, but my goodness this wax is horrendous. I bought this because my wax can only be purchased with the waxer and I don’t need more than one. I came across this wax on YouTube. The girl has PCOS and seemed to use the wax flawlessly. So, I hurried up and purchased. Huge mistake. The wax is very inconsistent and only melts on extremely high temps, but then burns your skin. You don’t have a lot of play time before it sets and unlike my normal wax, you HAVE to pull before it cools down too much or it’ll crumble. I finally gave it another go today and let’s say I burned myself a couple times Oh yeah, it’s better to apply it while it’s lava so it’ll grab the hair… I may just toss it. Waste
So I had high hopes for this wax. In beauty school a lot of the girls loved Starpil. I decided to give it a try and I was sadly disappointed. The wax doesn’t grab all the hair. I even watched their brand videos to make sure I wasn’t missing something or doing something that could cause it to not work efficiently I’m a cry baby to waxing so it didn’t help that I was putting myself through this pain just for hair to be left behind. I’m gonna keep trying other waxes to find one that works.
This is my first experience with this brand. I waxed my legs and armpits. This got all the hairs! And I've got very thick coarse hair! Very happy!!
It did not work as advertised. Had to return it back.
Wax is not strong enough
I used this wax for a Brazilian on my client and it kept cracking throughout the whole service
It may be that I am a DIY novice, but this wax dries to a very brittle texture. Instead of removing hair smoothly, it just cracks and breaks off. Again, I am a novice using a low-end warmer, so it may be my fault.
This wax is horrible quality. It cracks and leaves a mess. It does not grab on to all the hair. I do not recommend it at all.
Followed the directions for the heating and the wax laid on very thick so it was difficult to get a thin layer. Dried quickly, then cracked/broke with removal. Never again.
I’ve used different brands and this wax is horrible I literally wasted my money 😞It gets flaky upon removal. You can’t remove it it’s a mess. Please please don’t buy it
Clumpy and not smooth, not strong, not really low heat either. This is the worst wax I’ve ever tried hands down. I’m probably not even going to finish the package.
I ordered this about a two months. And I finally got the chance to use and it does not work at all. It breaks super easy and does not pull the hair at all. Unfortunately it was too late for me to return so just a waste of money.
As compared with other hard wax brands that I have used, this one is very poor. Even after following the instructions on the packaging, as well as trying a variety of other temperatures above and below that range, the wax does not apply well. Nor does it remove the hair. It gets very brittle regardless of temperature and does not pull off in one strip. Very disappointed. I wish I could receive a refund!
I’ve been using this wax product for years down, and definitely is a formula change. The wax doesn’t even pull all your hair up let alone and breaks apart every piece when you’re trying to pull and wax. I remember when this wax was able to pull every hair left on my skin off Now every time I apply the wax it breaks off into piece by piece before I can even get my real result. I have to keep applying wax five times to get the area to my bare skin and remove the hair. Just not purchasing again, have to find me another Wax company that can do the job
I had the worse experience with this wax. I’ve tested tried out a lot of different brand waxes. This has to be laid on extra thick and it’s fast drying so you have to be quick or it does not give you the benefits it advertises. It’s unfortunate, but I would not recommend.
I never write reviews but I have to for this one. I’m a professional and I needed more wax so I purchased here on Amazon because it got delivered faster than it would’ve ordering it on the website. TERRIBLE WAX It only melted at the highest temp and it was super grainy even fully melted. This is not a film wax. It also breaks and cracks really badly. DO NOT BUY
This wax had a terrible consistency when heated to the instructed temperature. It was gooey and gel like and did not grip hair well. I had to heat it to 165 degrees before it could be spread properly which was too hot for my skin. It also had the tendency to crack and crumble. Do not recommend.
I have used a variety of soft wax Brands including this one and have never had an issue, but this time around something was wrong with the hard wax it melted funky.. and separated once melted down. I did a test patch using the wax and it wouldn’t spread correctly. I ended up just having to throw it all away an absolute waste of money.
The wax is extremely hot and does not pick up the Hair. I’ve used many brands and this is by far one of the worst for the price.

I have sensitive skin and so this was a great easy alternative to use for at home waxing as opposed to spending a lot more money getting a professional wax done. Easy to remove from skin when done properly. Watch videos and educate yourself how to wax properly and tips/ tricks. It's easy to hurt yourself if not used properly. This product is nice because you don't really need all the other tools to apply and remove it!
Only after experimentation did I find a wax that worked for me; Starpil is it. Heated quickly, easy to apply, did not solidify too soon, picked up even very small, thin hairs. Good stuff!
This wax was great. Hardly any pain, I am sold. Takes a little while to melt, so plan ahead.
Nice beads. Melt easily. I break out from all and this doesn't do it to me! Only thing is this is a speed wax it seems like. Dries fast. Need to nice quick. But grabs hair good. Doesn't hurt.
This pink wax works. The blue wax pulls nothing off me.
This wax is excellent for facial hair removal (brows). Consistency is smooth but dries quick so don't wait too long to remove after application.

This wax has been good to do Brazilian waxes on myself AT TIMES. sometimes it gets too hard and will not come off. So I stopped using this product. It could've been that I allowed the wax to get too cool or too hot. im really not sure. but the first time I did it, it worked awesome and it was a creamy thick wax which was comfortable to pull off in little sections. the second and third time were horrible as it stayed stuck to my skin and it took me an hour to try and get it off even after jumping in the shower. I will stick to going to a 15 min wax session! lol ...
