The K7B cartridge combines a carbon block with a hollow fibre membrane capable of filtering out contaminants as small as 0.1 microns; half of its internal volume is taken up by the membrane, whose pores are approximately 1,000 times thinner than a human hair. The K7 cartridge serves as the final polishing stage, removing particles down to 0.8 microns for thorough end-stage purification. The cartridges do not soften water or reduce mineral hardness, making this set suitable for soft water supplies only. Under standard conditions the full set has a service life of 8,000 litres or one year, whichever comes first.
All three cartridges are replaced together as a complete set and require no special tools for installation.
