Cursed with Crusty Callused Heels-Helped Better Than Pumice
OMG! I have some dry crusty calluses on both feet--the heels and on both big toes. They have been there for a long time too while I have tired various methods to minimize them. Forget the creams and lotions, even the exfoliating ones just didn't do much. I had a pumice stone too and would use it in the shower after my feet had soaked for awhile. Some pumice stones don't have a handle, though, and this foot file does. Also, tried one of those metal grater type foot files, yeah you need to be careful you don't get overly zealous and damage your feet with those. As for this file it is double-sided. It has a raised bumpy side for more serious exfoliation and a smooth side for buffing. Hey, you can use it on dry feet too. I have used it on damp feet as well after soaking in the tub or taking a shower when my skin is softened. When I use it on dry feet I do so before taking a shower. This will really take off the dead skin and since there can be lots of dry skin flakes coming off you might want to do this over a bath-tub so you don't have dry skin flakes all over your floor. I rinse the file off with water and use a little liquid soap to clean it when I am finished using it. Depending on how thick your calluses are it may take several times to completely rid them so just be patient. I am working on a corn between my toes and the buffing side is doing a pretty good job of getting rid of it, better than the medicated corn pads I used. I wash my feet after use and dry them then apply a good foot cream and socks. Just remember persistence and patience are the key. I've found it to be a good size for maneuvering around my feet. Just wish I had found it sooner.

Outstanding file but wish it was slightly larger or that the professional version was offered
Reviewed 05\28\2023 I purchased this file in 12/2022 as a Christmas present to myself and I’ve now had it approximately 6 months give or take. This file has replaced my previous favorite files (Microplane Colossal foot file and multiple Diamancel foot files) as the first step in my foot are routine. It’s well made and sturdy in the hard and easily cleaned with soap, water and a cleaning toothbrush to get in the sides where the stainless meets the plastic. It feels solid and well made and has so far held up excellently after using it multiple times a week and washing it after every use. After soaking my feet this file removes a whole lot of dead skin easily and painlessly. My only complaints are really personal preference issues which is why I’m rating this as 4 ⭐️’s instead of 5 ⭐️’s. The file is very rounded at the top so it can be cumbersome to get in between the space of the ball of your foot where it meets right up to your toes without quite a bit of effort. But that could be just my personal foot anatomy (sorry no feet pics here, people cannot be trusted 🤣). Even though it’s double sided, I find that “fine” side of this file doesn’t leave my skin as smooth as I’d prefer so I do use a glass file as my last step. But again that’s a personal preference and does not take away from the quality or functionality of this file. I know there is a professional full stainless steel version of this file that is more pointy at the top that I actually believe I’d like more but it is not currently listed for sale on Amazon anywhere so 🤷♀️ I’ll just make due with this version but continue searching for the professional one. Now that all being said this really is an excellent file that makes quick work of copious amounts of dead skin and I’d recommend it. I Will update if anything changes or if I get my hands on the professional version of the file. **Edited on December 19, 2023** I’ve now had this file just shy of a year. It’s still a great file, it looks brand new, the plastic handle has held up exceedingly well functions exactly the same as the day I received it. My same issues mentioned above still hold true. I’ve purchased other files throughout the year but most were not notable enough for me to review compared to this file. I still wish I could get my hands on the professional Footlogix file. However, I did purchase the Imperial Feet file and it’s a step above this file in ease of use and the amount of skin that comes off with it. So I’m taking a star away from my original 4 star review. The only issue with the Imperial Feet file I have is that the one I received had a bent handle so I’m not sure if it’ll last.

The biggest problem I've always had with foot files in the past is that they only worked when wet. And the number of times I would remember to file after a shower, or would want to at the end of the day . . . well, let's just say, it rarely happened. But this. Oh my. It can be used on dry feet without tearing up your skin. Buy this today and throw away every other file you have.

This is just a good roughness and will take the hard skin off while leaving a nice feel afterwards. The metallic nature of the unit will allow this to work, I would think, for many many years. It is also easy to clean because of this as well. Well worth the buy.

Wow!! This foot file is amazing quality:) I am a nail tech and believe you me this file is professional grade. My feet have been unbelievably dry and cracked-go figure and I haven't been able to clear it up for over 2 years now. I use the foot file on clean dry heels/feet (after shower or bath) and then apply the footlogix mousse (athlete's feet version- sneaky suspicion this could be dryness culprit and treating it 'as it's for the dryness etc. So far so good! It's only been close to a week but crossing my fingers this it the treatment protocol. Be careful though file is sharp on coarse side!

Gentle and effective
The price is a little stupid. You can find off brand versions, likely all coming from the same overseas factories, for half as much. That said - this is the best type of file I have ever used. I’ve tried them all: pumice stones, those wands that have a sandpaper texture, microplane rasps, PedEgg, you name it. This one is more effective than pumice or the sandpaper wand, MUCH gentler than a cheese grater rasp, and it’s easy to clean and sanitize. My feet are healthy, good blood circulation, no vascular issues, and they aren’t overly callused. Just a few light swipes with this file after a foot soak every weekend and my feet stay that way. Clean and healthy. If you have thick calluses, don’t try or expect to remove them in one sitting. Work on them slowly. Grating them all off at once, especially with a cheese grater rasp, will buy you a ticket on the pain train, can invite infection, and can even make calluses come back worse. A little at a time. A foot cream with urea. Quick soaks in epsom salt regularly. A gentle filing session. And time. That’s the recipe for getting calluses down to a normal level. You never want them completely gone. They’re there for a reason.

Definitely not a cheese grater…MUCH better
Spent a few extra dollars as compared with the “cheese grater-type” files, based on a Google recommendation. Well worth it. I’ve used the $10 files & they are nothing special. This file works almost like light to medium grit sand paper, but rinses off super easy and leaves skin smooth. Very easy to control how much skin is removed. Stiff plastic handle has a good feel & seems durable. Definitely the best I’ve used. Highly recommend.

Eh… not too impressed
Product is very cheaply made but it does work a little I guess. It’s easy to use but it’s tedious and annoying. It doesn’t fully remove calluses, just mildly dry dead skin and then once it becomes loose on your feet it just turns into dry sticky skin that sticks onto your feet. Sounds gross but it’s true. I’m sure if you took a shower or bath first, and then used it, it may work a little better but I don’t know. It’s just a hassle to sit there and constantly run it on your foot back and forth to where your arm starts aching and then you get mad when there’s barely any progress. Don’t buy if you have calluses.. just spend the extra money on a higher quality product and thank me later!

Best foot file I've ever had
I wish I would have gotten this sooner! Ive tried so many different foot files... The flimsy cheap plastic, pumice stones, pedicure exfoliater bars, the cheese grater and nothing has made my feet as soft and smooth as this file. It was better quality than I was expecting and super easy to use and you don't have to worry about cutting your foot as with some other files.

It really works!
For my entire adult life I've had dry, cracking heels. No matter what I use (vaseline, oils, lotions) it never lasts. I've actually put holes in my sheets from scraping my heels. I got this today, spent about one minute on each heel, and they're almost as smooth as ever they've been. I used it over a wood floor, which looked like I sprinkled talcum powder on it. It's a bit pricey, but at least I won't need such frequent pedicures!
