Quality Whey Protein Powder and Vanilla Ice Cream Flavor Spot On
I purchased with some skepticism that the Vanilla Ice Cream flavor might disappoint. I am glad to say the Vanilla Ice Cream flavor is very good and priced fairly. This Whey protein brand comes with a scoop for measuring and produces a smooth and creamy frappe like drink when using a blender. I like the diversity that the Vanilla flavor offers when I am in the mood for a fruit flavor like bananas, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and pineapple. I have also added plain yogurt. The Optimum Whey Protein Powder is very fine, blends well with liquid and produces a filling, flavorful breakfast, lunch, and when on the go or preparing for a workout, a Vanilla Ice Cream drink will save time and satisfy your hunger.

One Powder to Bind the Weary Flesh After the Chicago Night Rolls
It was the hour when the mats of the North Side academy finally lay quiet, the last echoes of slaps and grunts swallowed by the low hum of the L train rumbling overhead, and the body—spent in the long war of guard and guard-pass—began its slow, unforgiving ledger. Six rounds, perhaps seven, each one a siege fought under fluorescent glare: hips escaped from beneath the crushing weight of purple belts, armbars defended with tendons that sang like frayed bowstrings, the air thick with the smell of rubber and sweat and the faint diesel ghost drifting in from Irving Park Road. By the time I stepped out into the February wind off the lake—sharp as a blade drawn across the knuckles—the quads trembled, the lats hung heavy as wet sailcloth, and the whole frame carried the dull thunder of effort that had no mercy in it. I drove south through the sodium-lit arteries of the city, past the shuttered taquerias and the glow of corner bars where men nursed their own quiet defeats, and in the small kitchen of the River Grove walk-up, under a single bulb that flickered like a dying beacon, I would once have stood empty, staring into the fridge as though it held some ancient pardon for the body’s complaints. Recovery was a word for other men, the ones who still believed flesh could forgive everything. Then the tub of Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard arrived—black and red as the banners of the Bears after a hard-fought Sunday, five pounds of vanilla ice cream promise sealed against the damp Chicago air. I leveled the scoop into the shaker with water from the tap—cold enough to bite—and watched the powder dissolve swift and clean, no stubborn clumps clinging like orcs to the walls, no chalky silt to remind me of lesser brands that had failed me before. I drank it slow against the counter, the taste rich and true: vanilla that carried the cool memory of ice cream scooped on summer nights at Montrose Beach, sweet without insult, smooth enough to quiet the fire still banked in the throat. The protein—24 grams per serving, 5.5 grams of BCAAs—began its work almost at once: the trembling eased first in the forearms, then crept down into the legs; the deep ache in the glutes softened from knife to murmur. Sleep came deeper that night, the kind where the city noise fades and the body mends without protest. Mornings after the brutal sessions—when the stairs up from the Blue Line once turned every step into accusation—I rose and found the quads compliant, the back straight without complaint, ready for the day’s ordinary Chicago treacheries: walking the dog along the Des Plaines, hauling groceries up three flights, surviving another rush hour on the Kennedy. It has become ritual now: post-training, the shaker rattled under the kitchen light; the slow walk to let blood return; the quiet hours when flesh remembers it can endure another dawn on these hard Midwestern streets. Soreness does not vanish—BJJ in Chicago grants no such illusions—but it is mastered, held in check, forced to wait its turn rather than rule the night entire. The powder endures like a loyal squire: no clumping in the humid summers that follow these winters, no settling into sludge at the bottom of the tub, no fading promise as the servings dwindle. If your nights on the mats leave you hollowed, if the body whispers surrender when the mind still hungers for more rolls under these gray skies—take this Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard. It is not mere supplement; it is covenant between warrior and recovery, a powder forged for the long campaign after battle in the city that never sleeps easy, the fellowship your weary frame has hungered for when the rolls are done and only the ache remains. Ten stars out of five, though the heavens are sparing with such reckonings. I would carry it into the deepest lairs of Mordor and fear no post-spar collapse on the frozen sidewalks of the North Side. 🥤🧙♂️💪🌬️

Excellent Quality and Great Results!
I’ve been using Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Whey Protein for a while now, and it has become part of my daily fitness routine. It mixes easily with water or milk, has a smooth texture, and tastes great. I also use it as a meal replacement when I’m busy, and it keeps me satisfied while helping me meet my daily protein goals. After my workouts, it helps support muscle recovery, and each serving provides 24g of high-quality protein. The product quality is excellent, the container arrived well sealed, and everything met my expectations. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, high-quality whey protein for muscle recovery and everyday nutrition.

Not bad, just a tad sweet
I love the taste! If you mix it with plain yogurt it would taste like cake frosting so a bit sweeter than I thought it would be. The scoop is large, I use 1/2 of it as you get pretty full. Texture is very soft and easily blended with milk or juice or whatever ingredients you want to add.

Pleasantly Surprised, will purchase again.
I have had bad experiences with protein powder in the past because I have sensitive gag reflexes when it comes to drinks. In the past protein powder has been a no-go due to its famous chalky taste. This protein powder blends smoothly, and doesn’t leave a chalky taste in my mouth. I bought the small tub of vanilla ice-cream flavor because I didn’t want to try it, not like it, then be stuck with a giant tub. I feel like every penny that I spent was worth it because the quality was unmatched. The scoop comes in the tub, and it was very accessible, so I didn’t feel like I was contaminating the whole bin when reaching for it so it feels very clean to me. I use it to make Greek yogurt/fruit shakes in the morning. The sweetness of the protein powder is enough that I don’t feel the need to add other sweeteners. I will drink a protein shake for breakfast, and be good until lunch. I’m excited to try other flavors. I well have to update this review when I finish my first tub/try other flavors.

Best Protein Powder You Can Buy
I've tried a few different protein powders over the last few years and this one is the one I decided to stick with. Flavors are great, it doesn't clump and it also blends nicely. I recommend the Vanilla Ice Cream and Double Rich Chocolate. Vanilla Ice Cream is my personal favorite because you can use it in smoothies or Ninja Creami's without getting a protein taste.

Spot on flavor but reminds me of melted ice cream.
Texture is great. They nailed the vanilla ice cream flavor but I personally have an issue with the flavor because I've come to realize that since it isn't cold like ice cream, it just tastes like melted ice cream which kinda turned me off from it. So just a heads up because that was not even on my mind when I chose the flavor.

My fear of losing muscle mass.
I am female 86 years old. 5‘,2“ 117 pounds. I felt the need to use this product to prevent muscle loss. I also need good bone support. I ordered vanilla. I put one half scoop in 4 ounces of almond milk. mixed easily and tasted delicious. It gave me 14 g protein.

best protein powder
blended with some frozen strawberries, frozen bananas , milk, peanut butter taste so good . doesn’t give a protein flavor at all . my go to when i’m lacking enough protein for the day. will buy a bigger one now. (wanted to taste it first before buying a big one) dissolves pretty good not clumpy at all in blender.

Good way to get your protein!
It's protein powder done right. Mixes easy with water or milk, and the Vanilla Ice Cream flavor makes for easy mixing with berries if you want. It can clump a bit if you add super cold water, so keep that in mind if you mix it with just water.

Good product but poor value
This taste good and mixes well cold and warm but will curtle in hot coffee, so I mix it in warm coffee then heat it up. I have purchased this product for years but will be seeking alternatives due to the major price hike. It is no longer good value. It used to be $126 which comes to about 28g of protein/$1. Now at $185, it comes to only 19g/$1. For reference, in terms of protein content, that would be like paying $4 for a dozen eggs. Or over $7 for a lb of chicken breast (139g protein). I get Chicken breast for $2-$3/lb where I am at. A much better option for a cheap, lean protein source. FYI, sSubscribe and save does not lock in prices which makes it a sham.

Price has doubled because of GLP-1 and social media
What a joke. Social Media trends strike again. Fatties were told to protein max on their GLP-1 and screwing us. This price is ridiculous for protein now

Has artificial sweetener!!
This protein whey has artificial sweetener. I am allergic to artificial sweeteners and had constipation for a while until I realized what was happening. Luckily, the seller refunded me. But if you are allergic to artificial sweeteners just like me, buy the Protein Whey Gold! The Gold one has natural sugar.

Best value for its money and safer in regard to heavy metals
The only protein powder I buy because it has the best heavy metal profile among hundreds of whey protein powders that were tested. Even different sorts of this brand had some bad results in that regard, but the Vanilla Ice Cream version is always the safest according to reports! And tastes good too! Definitively best value for its money in my opinion.

Best meal replacement!!
This is a staple in my house. It’s used by a few different people in the house as a meal replacement if needed it’s a good source of protein and having a shake with milk or water is very good to have the versatility to do that. This makes me feel like I am full so essentially it is a meal replacement and I know that my husband takes one a day minimum with milk and it’s a very easy thing to mix. They also have great flavors.Lol

Tastes just like Vanilla Ice Cream!
I absolutely love this protein powder! Vanilla ice cream is my favorite ice cream flavor, so this was an easy choice, and it did not disappoint. The taste is delicious, and it mixes really well. It’s even better when I blend it with fruit, especially bananas. It makes my protein shakes taste like a treat while still helping me reach my protein goals. I’ll definitely be buying it again!
