Works well but smell is too awful to use
I'm interested that so many people say they love the smell! I *HATE* the smell. I hate it so much that, even though I really love the way the product works, I find that I can't bring myself to use it because I know I'll have to smell that smell all day long. For me, it smells of earthy/hippie/patchouli + men's cologne and it's overwhelmingly strong. It's such a bummer because it's the fastest route to texture and volume for my hair and could replace 2 or 3 more expensive products. If they offered in a less powerful or more standard scent, I would gladly pay much more and use it every day in a heartbeat, but as it is, I had to toss 95% of the bottle. I should say in case it helps other people gauge that I'm sensitive to smell, but not normally someone who throws away hair products for scent reasons. Love the scent of the Oribe products, for example, even though they're strong smelling.

Great for my Thick Hair
I have thick hair that either gets really weighed down or oily looking with most product, but this one doesn’t make me look like my hair has absolutely no body...I love this stuff! My mom bought me a bottle of this over a year ago and I was hooked. I can’t place the smell, but it’s not a super pungent scent of flowers or herbs, just “clean.” A little goes a long way, so the product has lasted me quite a while...which make the price worth it in my opinion.

The fragrance is masculine.
I didn’t keep this because the fragrance of the product was way too masculine. If for a woman, find a different R&Co product. They have so many wonderful fragrances and their products usually perform well.

The only styling product I need
I'm a simple guy, I don't do a lot with my hair, but everything I need my hair to do: this stuff does it. Wrangles fly-aways, holds it in place without looking like a helmet, keeps it shiny without being greasy. I can use it right out of the shower, or if I forget I put it in later, works great both ways.

Styling Game Changer
I'll be the first to admit that I'm pretty particular about my grooming routine, especially when it comes to my hair. So, when I stumbled upon this Mannequin Styling Paste for guys, I was intrigued. Let me tell you, it's been a game changer for my daily styling routine! This styling paste strikes the perfect balance between hold and flexibility. It's not overly stiff or greasy, which is a big plus for me. It allows me to create a variety of styles, from a classic gentleman's side part to a more modern, textured look. The possibilities seem endless, and I love that flexibility.

Holds curls in place very well
This is an excellent product, but needs to be used sparingly. Squeeze a tiny amount onto the tip of your finger (A droplet the size of half a dime), rub your hands together, and run your fingers through only the ends of your hair … just the last 1-2 inches. It is a mistake to use it close to the scalp, as it will not provide volume, it will only leave a sticky mess.

Doesn't feel sticky
My daughter suggested this for me and it works great. A little dab will do you. It goes on easily doesn't feel sticky , gives a natural look and holds all day. I hate my hair in my face and eyes and this keeps it back without needing a headband or clips. I wear my bangs, which are about 4", off to the side.

Formula's changed
The salon I go to stopped carrying this due to quality concern issues. They didn't go in to details but I found that interesting. Anyway, it was always my favorite so I went and found it on Amazon. Now I see why they stopped carrying this line - the texture is still the same, but the smell is totally different. It used to be a wonderful sage-like smell, now it's a very chemically type odor that bothers me sometimes.

Great for short hair
It creates a nice hold and volume in the hair without being too tacky and non-malleable. Doesn’t leave a sticky texture to the hair.

I love R&Co. products, but this is not good for fine hair
I would like to give this product five stars - it is obviously high quality and I love the smell, but it just made my fine hair flat, even using a very small amount. I am returning it and am hoping to find a foam or mousse in this same line as I think it would be better to increase volume.

All Time Favorite Hair Product
Im in my late 40's and very thankful for my sweet salad on my head still. I love this product! I put a little in my hair when its a slightly damp and it turns into the perfect texture. It's smooth and not so sticky or crunchy like other hair products. I recommend getting the R+Co Rockaway salt spray too for the days off from Mannequin.

Where has it been all my life
Since I was a teenager I have been using products to shape my hair. This one is the best so far. I see myself using it the rest of my life. My husband loved it too. He went on a business trip and took it with him. I had to order a new one because he refused to give it back. Lol

Fine hair
R&Co is a great company. This hair paste is a great consistency and does a nice job styling hair. We (my son and I both use it!) have fine hair but it works well in both short and long hair. Give it a try, you’ll like it!

3rd buy 🙌🏻
I love r+co, have bought Mannequin 3 times now. It’s truly the best. I have had varying lengths (pixie to a long bob), currently cut myself and short and I always reach for this.

Not the same
My last six tubes have been a thick, sticky paste. My latest purchase is thin and wet. Does not work - leaves my hair needing a shampoo. Id like to return, if I could figure out how.

Smells like my cat’s farts after he’s been munching on the house plants
They changed the scent, which was the best thing about this product. Ok, I get it, whatever, it happens. But the new scent is the diametric opposite of the old one, which was fresh, light and citrusy, this is earthy and smells like clay and almost like poop to me honestly. I usually like “earthy” scents. It eludes me why scents in hair products is treated like a side note, and not an integral part of the product. I liked this paste but now it smells bad to me, which makes it useless to me. It may not smell bad to everyone, so it’s not intrinsically useless, but again, people care how things smell? Why is scent treated like it doesn’t matter in marketing? Why is there no “scent changed!” marker or something? If this was changed from a paste to a cream, it would be a different product. Anyway I’m annoyed, having wasted money on this and disappointed to have lost what used to be a good product.
