Great Feel, Hold, Smell and Quality!
Reuzel is an inexpensive grooming tonic that will last a long time. Only a small amount (a quarter size) in your palm rubbed together will be enough for most men to hold their flyaway hairs in place. The smell is a nice and subtle musk that goes away in about an hour so there is no smell on your pillow. It will hold almost any kind of hair and gives your hair a healthy look without being shiny. If you want a really strong hold, simply apply more product, but so little is necessary. I have short grey hair so it is perfect for me and I can use a brush or comb to style. Later in the day if you want to restyle, simply wet your hair slightly again and restyle. This bottle is a bargain and it is a great product.

Amazing Tonic!
This is a great addition to your hair care products! Light viscosity and glides into hair. Apply to damp hair and blow dry for extra volume and control before applying your pomades or styling creams. This can also be used by itself (especially if you already have thick hair) if you don't like to cake product into your hair. It will add a light hold and control frizzies. I've always had fine straight hair so I use this as a base when I get out of the shower. I use this product along with quite a few of their water-based pomades and I absolutely love it! I also love the aesthetic that they are going for; that classic Barber shop feel. I'm not too crazy about the smell, but it's not offensive either. The fragrance does not give me that classic Barber shop smell. I think of barbershops and I think of the smell of talc or a soft mature man's cologne or aftershave. This smells like a fruit scent car-freshener. It's not offensive and it doesn't stink. It still smells clean, but by no means gives me that barber shop fragrance. And the fragrance dissipates after a short while anyway so I guess it doesn't matter too much. Amazing product!

No Issues - Clear, No Leaks, Smells Amazing and Works Well
For what it's worth, this is my first buy of Reuzel Grooming Tonic, and there were no problems as some other reviewers unfortunately experienced. The solution was clear with the right kind of thinner viscosity. There was also a "Gripper" sticker wrapped around the lid and bottle to prevent it from any possible leaks. So someone IS listening to the feedback. The product itself is exactly what I was looking for to mimic what our barbers use in their water bottle spray. It smells exactly the same. I tried a small squirt of the product by itself and was very happy with the results. Hair was thicker, had nice sheen without being excessive or oily, and made my hair more controllable. You can and probably should try adding it to a water spray bottle. I've applied 3 extended squirts to about 4oz of water, and although I'm still experimenting with ratios, that seems to be a good balance. This was a satisfying buy. I fully recommend Reuzel's Grooming Tonic.

Not Dye Free
I will simply say that I love this stuff dearly. I use it every day damp my hair and put some of this in get out the blow dryer and blow it right into my combover and following that I use their gel as well to just coat the top of the hair that is already sitting almost exactly how it needs to be and the gel will keep it in place and looking good all day. NOW--- the part I am very disappointed in are the ingredients. They could do better they really could to eliminate harmful ingredients. Lets take for example the dye. It does not need dye and I do not want to put dye on my skin that is now being absorbed unnecessarily into my body. This product could go without fancy coloring and be just as attractive if not more attractive to use and the quality will not lack by any means. Please get rid of not needed ingredients....

Works great but…
A lot of complaints about the smell and while it isn’t the most pleasant; it not as bad as a lot of people make it seem. The smell goes away quickly too, my wife had noticed the smell in my hair after applying. If you’re sensitive to strong smells, you’re gonna want to avoid this. Now does it work; sure does and it works great. Gave my hair the wet look that I wanted. How wet you want your hair to look depends on how much water you use to dampen your hair. It handles sweat and wearing a hard hat for 8 hours but it’ll lose the wet look and turn into a messy hair kinda look. Overall I would buy it again but would hope for a version with a better smell. I’m the mean time I’ll just won’t over do it with just using a handful and applying cologne or aftershave when I walk out the door.

I continue to buy this because it provides a light hold on hair and doesn't leave it stiff or shiny. A little goes a long way so a bottle lasts me many weeks if not a few months. It doesn't look like you have used anything, but yet provides a great hold to your hair without it being like a wig.

It's light, smells good, and calms down your frizz, dryness, and excessive volume. I was looking for a hair product that wasn't going to cement your hair into a suffocating gel-scalp-helmet or thicken your hair into clay or grey goop and Reuzel's Grooming Tonic has been the best product so far. It smells good, refreshing, and inoffensive. It smells like Garnier shampoo. May not be for those who want to smell "unique" and stand out, but PERFECT for those who want to smell good, but in a low-key, unnoticeable, and inoffensive way. It keeps my frizz and excessive volume down, which is what I bought it for. I don't need to use much per application. Just some drops into my palm, rub together, and apply to hair. Great product. I'm glad it exists. I see they're a spray bottle version. May buy that next for easier, less messy application.

Wish I would have found this stuff years ago.
I have thin lifeless hair that I have to really work hard to create the illusion of volume with pomade and hard work but this stuff when applied to damp hair and brushed in is like magic. Once your hair dries there is a bit of light hold to the product, not crunchy but definitely some control, once you work free the control your hair has noticeably increased volume. I can get away with only using this tonic to style my hair for the day but if I really want it to look great i can hit with the blowdryer for more volume and use a pomade and style it up really nice. MUST have for thin hair guys!

my first impression
I liked the look and shape of the bottle, it's sleek and tall, almost too tall to fit on my bathrooms shelves within hand reach, but I will make due with it in my top cabinet space. I received the product in a well-packaged box with the order info inside. The tonic itself has a nice aroma, not overly strong. It applies easy, using the small hole in the top of the bottle makes measuring a palm full is easy. I was expecting a more oily residue after I applied it to my hair, to keep small fuzzy hairs in place but it dried fast and I have to reapply water to keep the shorter side, fly away fuzzies in place. The rest of the styling is good. overall I like this product, however, I would like to find one that doesn't dry as fast. Its that or let my hair grow out more.

It works for curly thick hair
At first I didn't like the smell but over time it grew on me. It is earthy and woodsy I guess. It does have have an alcohol smell like others. I have rough thick hair and this works best out of several hair tonics I've tried. This leaves a slight oily residue but that is good for me because it keeps my rough hair from drying out all day. If I do not use pomade or tonic, my hair can get very frizzy and messy. I have has the 11 oz bottle for about 6 months and have used nearly half of it. I use it almost every morning. I think it's reasonably priced and it's the best tonic I've used, especially considering my hair needs something to keep it tame.

Found out about this product after my last haircut. I use it on towel dried hair. I put it in the hair, then blow dry, then add either some hair clay or hair crème and Wow! My hair looks great and stays styled all day. Very satisfied. I am glad the barber had me facing the mirror during the whole cut so I could see what products he was using. A game changer in my morning routine.
I am not a person who spends so much time putting any product on my hair. I have only used my blow dryer to slick my hair or put my hair to the sides. However, this has changed my whole perspective about hair products. It is super easy to use, I could never use any wax or pomade due to difficulty but this is not. It's Fine, But I Should've Paid Attention
I have used the blue Reuzel hair tonic in the past and loved what it did for my hair. I figured I would expand out and try some other "flavors" of their tonic. Unfortunately, I did not pay attention to the part about this one containing oil. (Even though it's right there in the title.) I'm sure this works wonders on other hair, but it didn't do great things with mine. I'll stick to the blue, but if you're looking for a good oil-based tonic, this will work.

My fault for not noticing the alcohol ingredient...
Love the smell and what it does for the texture of my hair...initially. However, why is it so hard to find a comparable product WITHOUT alcohol. I can physically feel it drying out my hands after application. So, I imagine that it's doing the same to my hair and scalp in the long run.

Not what I expected
Not what I was expecting. This isn't a hair tonic like other one's I've used where they provide some hold and leave your hair lustrous and soft. This definitely leaves some sticky residue. It may be a good product for your needs if you do a less natural style but this is not what I've come to know as a hair tonic. Perhps I misunderstood what I was purchasing. What I can definitely say though is that this does not have that manly, clean, fresh out of the barbershop scent; it's more akin to that of the hair gel or hairspray.

Terrible shipping loses long time customer
To the sellers: After being a brand-loyal customer for about 8 years (never bothered considering a competitor), I had to move on. The product is great! I assume the customer service is great! But when I tried to buy it on 4/21 and you tell me it will be early May before I get it, I had to look elsewhere. Found a competitor for half the price who got it to me 2 days later. Product quality is the same. FYI: you literally lost a buyer, 100% because of your shipping practices. It is about a 14 day walk from Denver to my house. You literally could have walked it here in the same time. Get it together.

I don’t really like this one at all. It has a weird consistency, makes suds in my hair if it’s wet, and it seems difficult to wash out. I can feel its effects for a few days. The blue one is much better. Plus the aroma is just…no.
