Good British Shave Cream
Truefitt & Hill is a venerable British shave cream from a country that knows how to make great shave creams. In order to render an accurate opinion, I need to compare it to another British cream, as, for example, the Trumper line of creams. With T & H, a little goes a long way, balancing out in part its greater expense. While Trumper costs less, it requires more cream to whip up a nice lather. The T & H scent is very mild as is the Trumper and disappears almost immediately after shaving. T & H is silky smooth in its application. Trumper is thicker, more like an American cream. There are very few creams that rival T & H in its rich, luxurious feel on your face. Perhaps the one that most comes to mind is not British but Portuguese, Musgo Real. While some may like the thicker cream of Trumper, it is impossible to beat Truefitt and Hill as the monarch of British creams.

Size and scent intensity
The cream tube is small compared to the price, and the scent is not intense at all, it is light and the tube is not full. Other than that it’s good. But I would prefer my Proraso products for their size, scent and price.

One of the best
It's hard to beat the Truefitt & Hill shave cream. It makes a wonderful lather and causes your blade to glide very well. The only issue is that it is expensive and I find myself trying to save my T&H for special occasions. I'm not really complaining, everything quality comes with a price. One tube will last a very long time, it only takes a very small amount to make plenty of lather.

Performance as a shave cream is top notch! Scent may not be your cup of tea...
The performance of this shave cream is superb. Excellent glide and cushion! Lathers up very, very easily. I won't take points off for the scent, because that's subjective. It's not really my cup of tea. There's one element of certain fragrances that simply makes my nose cinch up, and this stuff has it. On the other hand, my wife thinks the scent is positively dreamy so I have no problems using it for, ahem, "her pleasure."

This is my favorite T&H scent
What can I say, purchased about 10 different shave creams to try out this being one of them... I didnt want to like this due to price but once I tried it out, this scent stands out among all that I purchased there is nothing else like it...If you want to splurge on a shave cream I would highly recommend you try 1805! As far as all of the 3 T's go, I would say they all perform pretty close to each other, the scent is really the only major factor between them all and price . My stash includes Taylor of old bond street sandalwood - GF Trumper coconut / lime - T&H 1805 / west indian lime....all great creams!

One of the best I have tried
I use Lab Series for many years; however, when they switched their formula it wasn't as good. I looked at about 10 products and found that 1805 gave me a much more comfortable shave. With very sensitive skin and an extremely thick beard this is one of the few products that works well for me.

He won't switch
Hubby uses it everyday. He says it is the best shave he has ever had and he won't go back to the drug store stuff in a can. One tub lasts him several months, so although it is expensive, a little bit goes a long way. We have also gotten the tube and that lasts for a few months and he uses it more when traveling b/c it is compliant with the carry-on regulations.

This really is the best their is regardless of scent
I've been using this for about ten years and have tried 3 or 4 diff brands in between and they typically don't last a full tube till I come back to this product. I'm finished trying other products. A pea size amount is all I need in the shower. This really is the best their is regardless of scent. It's like butta' on your face.

Perfect Travel Size for the Perfect Shaving Cream.
Travel size of what I consider (after a lot of trial and error) the best shaving cream on the market. A very small amount produces a thick, luxurious, slick, cushioning lather in a minute. I like the milder scent of 1805. Others may prefer the stronger scented Grafton or Trafalgar. While the scents may vary the very high quality of the lather doesn't.

Worth the price for a great shave
Works like a charm. Have tried many shaving creams but really have found 1805 to be the best. This cream feels like a moisturizer and allows you to only use a little product to get the desired lather. Unlike other options 1805 doesn't clog a multi blade razor.

How to Review A Fragrance?
I know it is completely subjective, but I find the smell of the item very off-putting to say the least. I can't place what it is, but I find the smell rather abrasive and irritating. I just got my tube of T&H 1805 and I wanted to whip some up to sample. The smell is so strong, I almost passed out. I've smelt a similar smell before but this is so strong I can't get it out of my nostrils or off my hands. I'm not a shaving novice. I used a very small amount. It lathered well and I'm sure would shave very nicely, but this paticular fragrance is, to me, very unappealing. I wish I could have had a smaller sample. I'm not going to use it. I'm hesitant to just throw the tube away, but I really just can't stand the smell. I've heard bad reviews of Old Taylor's Sandalwood, and while I would agree it isn't really "sandalwood," that fragrance is to me, much more interesting. This T&H 1805 is just harsh. As my intro to T&H products, I'm going to say that I am not inclined to investigate this brand any further.
